I've never been to Stickleball but it sounds far far away from what everyone says!  How do you know your shifts? Are you on earlies?

I think you get an email in advance if you are a team leader

Still keeping the faith. Can’t believe there won’t be any last minute cancellations due to changes in people’s circumstances.

It has happened on the Friday before.  Fingers crossed for you

    No🙁

Such a shame as so often it came through for people.

I’d recommend doing two with Oxfam year to get on the Glasto priority list for next time

For an Oxfam shift, will there be time to go and buy a proper meal during breaks?

Apologies if this has been covered before.

Really depends on where you are posted. Best to pack snacks

    It wouldn't surprise me tbh.

As far as I can make out, both of the last times Glastonbury became available, it was multiple places at once and released way outside of normal working hours. Whereas for other (less in demand) festivals places are coming up as and when.

Seems quite likely they're actively trying to get away from places being snapped up people who have a refresh script running all day while they're in the office.

That makes sense. The poor refresh crew are going 24 hour now 👀

Hopefully Oxfam are saving up any last minute cancellations till the end of the week then an abundance of places will appear 🙏🏻😂.

In previous years there have been places late in the week but there are also places in the lead in.  Hopefully it isn’t scheduled for another 06:47am release 😂

  8. Anyone else think its odd that we haven't had any efest successes on this thread for over a week???

Or news of any last minute places with Oxfam.

    Is it over?

Oxfam briefings do tell the story of Michael Eavis not being allowed through and also that he was very impressed with the diligence of the stewards. He liked that his face didn’t get him in because it gave him confidence that no one was getting by with a ‘Don’t you know who I am?’

I’ve never seen anyone famous on my gates at Glastonbury (LOADS at Latitude) but I have a younger friend who was gutted that his shift clashed with Sleaford Mods. On shift he strolled up to scan wristbands on a dark windowed car rolling through, and as the windows wound down - who should it be but Sleaford Mods! He said he was a bit stunned and just said ‘You’re The Sleaford Mods!’ Then pulled himself together a bit and told them he was gutted to be working while they were on and wished them a good set. Absolutely made his festival.

My mate and I stopped him at VG7 because you have to scan everyone in and out.  He was a gent, got scanned like everyone else.  No fuss, happy it was happening. Made small talk and off he went (pic below).

    Day 189:

    Weight: 278lb
    Daily Change: Unknown
    Total Loss: 6lb

Been a while, Life just gets in the way sometimes doesn't it?

Since Christmas I've had a horrendous list of things going wrong in my life, I won't bore you with the details, but it hasn't been fun... I stopped exercising (again) and ate so much food. I shot up to 305lb!!!!

Anyway, a few months ago things started turning around a little bit, one by one I worked through all of the things that were going wrong (still not 100% there, but getting there.) So 8 weeks ago I started trying to lose weight again. Walking, Jogging (indoor / treadmill) and watching what I eat. I'm now back down to below 20 stone, which, whilst it's not where I thought I'd be when I first started these posts, it is lower than when I started, and I'm in a much better place than I thought I was going to be when looking forward 3 months ago.

Whilst I'm not at an ideal weight for the farm... Dropping 27lb in 8 weeks definitely makes you feel lighter and more energetic, so in that way I'm ready for it... Bring it on.

My only concern now is that I ruin all the hard work in 2 days on the farm by drinking loads (this is none negotiable) on Weds and Thurs 🙈🙈

    Great work!

  12. I think places will come up, especially at the end of this week as people have stuff that comes up that needs a last minute cancellation.  They have been plenty of Thursday/Friday successes on efests.  I think @Pipine got her place on the Friday lunchtime!
