It would be so easy to organise. Give a date to fill in a webform by to say you want to keep deposit. If you don't fill this in you get a refund. Sorted.

What if there’s no festival next year either? How long do they keep our money? I’m not saying this is likely of course but no one can guarantee anything just now, particularly with regards to the organisation of such a large event.

The problem with 2016 was that the sun didn't come out, so there wasn't any chance for the mud to dry up. But it definitely didn't rain the whole time. I remember a lot of rain friday and sunday evening, then no recollection at all about Saturday... although I have a picture of us under a giant rainbow in the mud so guess it did rain at some point.  I actually had a great time in 2016. My worst year was 2011 - just made bad decisions so ended up doing a lot of trudging in the mud and getting stuck in crowds. The Sunday was good though - whole thing dried up and we were sitting down on the ground by lunchtime.

I can tell it's getting close now I am back religiously checking the weather thread!

It was scorching when we arrived on the Wednesday in 2016. Chucked it down Thursday morning and Friday morning/early afternoon. There was sunshine on Friday and Saturday though, can remember watching Foals and it was a beautiful evening. Sunday was miserable all day.

  3. Klaus Blatter in the Spike, Sunday 1.30am, plays acid house apparently. But when I saw a video of  Mr Blatter he looked remarkably like Irvine Welsh in daft sun glasses and a Borrusia Dortmund tracksuit...

Ibibio are Saturday on Avalon, so below The Cat Empire and James Morrison is what I'm assuming.

12 noon on Bands in Town but unsure how accurate that is.

Acoustic tent 1995 - Evan Dando and Portishead

Acoustic Tent 2019 - Marti Pellow and Keane

    Serious rethink needed.

Doesn’t that just demonstrate that the stage has changed over the years, but not to the overall detriment of the festival? The 2019 equivalent of Portishead circa ‘95 will play the Park or John Peel instead.

I cant find any info on it now but I'm sure someone said they were west holts (Sons of Kemet are Park which could be whats got us confused?).

Either way they are definitely not on The Park assuming the info on Idles positions is correct (6pm Friday on Park).

Of course, forgot about Idles, cheers.

Also The Sons Of Kemet and The Comet Is Coming have the times of their sets on Bandsintown. Have added both to the clashfinder for those that are interested.

Sons Of Kemet are at 3 (so they are 4th on The Park Stage).

The Comet IS Coming are at 17:30 (so they are 5th on West Holts)

Are TCIC definitely West Holts? Had it in my head they were Park Stage for some reason.

Before the official 2017 version was released, if you had the 2016 version and went to the ap store, it gave info about the updates. This included some screen shots, one of which showed part of the Sunday lineup.

It was only there 1 or 2 days prior to the official lineup announcement.

Ah that’s right, cheers good Sir.

  9. Can anyone jog my memory with this. In 2017 there was some sort of technical glitch with the official app (at this point technically it still would have been the 2016 version) where part of the line up or stage times was revealed by accident. I’m sure it was someone on here who spotted it. Or did I dream this?

Don't think Vampire Weekend will be headlining Other, imagine that The Prodigy were meant to sit there and VW were just bumped up a slot.

Poster is an enigma this year, Wu Tang’s position is so weird, would expect them sandwiched between Lauryn Hill and Monae.

People were talking about having to queue overnight for Oasis tickets, which - having seen them a number of times without having to queue up - I'm a little sceptical about..

Mates of mine definitely queued overnight for tickets for the show in Glasgow.

Queued overnight for Loch Lomond tickets in ‘96, but was probably unnecessary with hindsight. Was a fun evening though, Tennents Super and whizz being passed up the line like bread rations in post communist Moscow.

  12. This might be better in the Self Confirmed thread but our old friend Bands in Town has Hernan Cattaneo on Saturday.

And Old Baby Mackerel playing The Rabbit Hole on Friday.

No idea who they are but exciting nonetheless.
