  1. Regarding Royal Mail Tracker....it has a little comment under the link saying the tracking link might not work until an attempted delivery has been made - which seems a bit pointless.

E mail just arrived with tracking number but won’t let me track!

Same. Tracker changed to 'sent to courier' yesterday at 19%... Email in this morning at 9:30, says 2-3 days delivery time. Would've presumed that meant delivery Saturday or Monday....but there was talk on here at some point that some were getting 1 day/next day delivery, so I've no idea what to expect.

  3. Got the good news on the tracker, but no email. Judging by others messages I won’t see that til tomorrow now.

I really hope they come on Friday… I’ve begrudgingly got to attend a wedding on Saturday and the thought of missing the postie will just make a dull day even more agonising.

hmmm, I've heard quite a lot of contradictory information though as I assumed that was only the case if the ticket was bought in the original sale and the remaining amount paid for by the individual. Whereas in my case Friend 1 paid the full balance for myself and Friend 2.

Sorry if someone has asked this already, but have you looked on See’s ticket tracker? Delivery address is shown in there IIRC.

    Bigger stage?

Is it me or is that a wider stage than 2019?

Edit: That might not be a pic from 2019 - but pretty sure they used the same stage as previous years.

Impressive looking ticket with 50th branding

That’s a cracker of a design and I’m really glad we get to see it. I suspect they didn’t get as far as stamping on all the shiny/hologram stuff when 2020 was pulled, so we get a bit of a ‘22 reference on there too.

I’m hoping that dispatch starts to ramp up a bit soon. Just 1% up yesterday, what’s that - 2000 tickets?

One less thing to worry about when you're getting the SeeTickets coach is your actual physical ticket going astray or being thrown away etc.  An email can be printed AND kept on your phone and you only have to look after your actual ticket for a couple of hours after being given it on the coach to getting in the gate.

Not that I'm a worrier or anything.

You say that - but my first time on Seecoach there were a couple of poor sods who the driver didn’t have the tickets for….so they didn’t have a very fun journey. Every time on the coach since I’ve had that worry that we’d be the ones still sat there with no more envelopes left to hand out.

In fairness. That first time was an utter clusterf**k throughout - it’s been faultless ever since.

  8. Got a couple of standing for Birmingham. I noticed utilita had the prices up on their site a day or two ago so had some time to get my head around the price jump.

That said, we live in the sticks on the other side of the country, so with the train & hotel costs on top - it’s a pricey ol’ trip.

The Suburbs doesn't get enough recognition for what a masterpiece it is, imo. I genuinely see it as the greatest album of the 21st century, and Funeral/Neon Bible aren't far behind. Reflektor is their first flawed album but full of great tracks. EN was pretty bad and now this isn't great either. It's easy to say their live versions of the song are better and how the songs are meant to be enjoyed, but listen to No Cars Go/Intervention/Ready To Start/Wake up/Sprawl ii on record. They capture that same intensity easily on record whereas here it's lost. I was very disappointed hearing Age of Anxiety 1/2, production is flat af. Anyway, still hope they are the secret set, but im let down with the album. After the Suburbs came out and they had three masterpieces in a row, I thought they would be maintain a Beatles/Pink Floyd/Radiohead standard throughout their career, but they've gone down the post Achtung Baby U2 route and lost the magic spark. I won't unsubscribe though

I think that's been my problem - I adore the The Suburbs so much. It set such a ridiculously high bar that anything else by them that doesn't give me the same feels always feels initially like like a bit of a let down. That said, I think WE is great. It ain't the burbs - but it doesn't feel like it's trying to be.

  10. Can’t remember if it was in 18 or 2019, but the misses and I went to see Michael sing in the Avalon Cafe on the Thursday evening. It was such a warm and loving little set, it all got a bit much for me - so when he got to You Were Always On My Mind I just went, and felt really daft for it (validated my Michaels rather curious glare at me whilst bawling to his singing). Tried to wipe the tears back, looked across at the misses and she was in floods too.

  11. Apart from my first year we’ve tended to aim for anywhere near the railway track  (partly for practicality, partly out of tradition now)A few times in Oxylers, mostly in Park Home…twice in Paines/SP2. We just plod until we can’t be arsed to lug our gear much further, the nearest available spot to where we’re stood is then the winner.

Not much method to it I’ll admit, but it’s just somewhere to kip and its worked out fine (most) years. In 16 festivals I’ve only had one tent flooding and one attempted burglary.

You see this tip more at Glastonbury than I have at other festivals,  but it really helps if you can get your whole team on board... we normally have a group of 10 or 15..when walking in crowd or convoy,  we have our own hand signal that the person leading way holds up high above their head walking...if a large line, the person in middle normally repeats.. if you get separated in crowd, you instantly stand still and do our signal, then the team when looking back can note a separation... it actually really useful in the crowd! We seen other versions such as the horns 🤘, the birdy chat 🤏, the money finger rub...etc... ours an index finger swil spin 👆" ... invent your own if part of a team... 😁 it was fun to spot others doing same idea across the years...

If you ever take kids, I good idea I sore, was to write in sharpie permanent marker up.arm "if found lost please ring this number" ... an excellent idea...

Send yourself a wattsapp GPS pin for xar location parked in car park! A life saver to find car again!  I also pin the tent on a GPS to self...

Some crackers there lol... hope you have an amazing time

Seeing a convoy like this always makes me smile..reminds me of when I was on holiday, sat outside a cafe watching the sightseeing tour guides all march past with different hand gestures held up, each one shortly followed by a scurry of camera-weilding tourists 🙂

Ah ok. Just so happens I'm working this year so still might make it in there.

It’s called Goose Hall if that’s of any use to you

  14. I used to get my sugar fix from that village market at Greenpeace. They had some lovely cake going on over there, but it disappeared a festival or two ago…so I’m going to keep a keen eye on this thread for top tips.

  15. James opened The Other Stage the Friday morning of 2016. Emotions were already running sky high from the Brexit result, but when they played Tomorrow I almost lost it completely.

I watch it back from time to time and it still brings a tear to my eye.

  16. Not sure if Lookout Kid is growing on me or not yet. I think I like it once it gets going. The chorus has a real Fleet Foxes vibe to it. Really looking forward to hearing the rest of the album.

  17. Not a ‘meet’ for me as such, but my wife did once unintentionally (and v briefly) plant her face into his belly -  whilst we were on our way up to the Park.

I’d seen him in the crowd a few seconds earlier, called the wife to get her attention - she stopped in her tracks (he didn’t) and spun round to me only to then get a face full of a traveling Cocker torso.
