QOTSA/ Royal Blood - Wolf Alice on the saturday night for me.
Also could we be seeing Bonobo playing a live set? It's a little left field for the standard R+L audience but i could see it working. Will they risk it?

They haven't by me.
that's what i like to hear.

Was that a confirmed source? It just seems bizarre to me, I think they are perfectly set up to co-headline with Royal Blood. It just fits.
-
why have QOTSA been disregarded? this would be the first year that the secret set from the previous year hasn't played.
-
Kendrick would be a lot bigger pull for the target audience at r+l than paramore.

Foo Fighters - FOB
QOTSA/Royal Blood co-headline - Wolf Alice
Kendrick - Some grime, BBK???

... the second biggest stage...
the barn stage isn't the second biggest stage anymore. Last year it had a much smaller line up in terms of band size than the market stage, I wouldn't be surprised to see a similar thing this year.

I can imagine it is going to be lower down announcement to really drill home the sales. They are expecting to sell out so there is no need to push the sales with a MASSIVE announcement. Would be lovely just to see a couple of bigger names like lucy rose and glass animals or the flaming lips. but I don't have any hopes because all i want is already on the line up. what a corker.

what a fantastic line up! anyone who's been before can you tell me what the more culture side is like?? the sunday papers etc.

Who?? Not being ignorant but never heard of them
stormzy is a current grime artist. he has just released a new album to critical acclaim, it's expected to go straight to number 1. it infuses grime with gospel and other genres. it's good you should give it a listen. but like another said, he is VERY big at the moment and you'd struggle to find a spot to slot him into.

Foo Fighters, Arcade Fire, BMTH + Royal Blood

great line up announcement. well worth the wait. undercard is phenomenal, i'm very excited for it now.
could we maybe be seeing a slight rearrangment of the space because of the size of the bands playing this year? i never ever would've expected libertines to play so i'm very excited for that. saw them in 2014 at hyde park, one of the best gigs i've ever been to so very excited for this one.

If Jake Bugg is headlining then I will actually cry
happiness or sadness?
I'd agree that libs are too big as much as I would love them to play.
The Kooks, not a bad shout there.
Bastille? thoughts?

I think we need to look further than those. Band's who have played the O2 arena/Wembley recently or otherwise -
Kaiser Chiefs, Craig David, TDCC, The Vaccines, The 1975, Bastille, Seasick Steve.
Out of them you'd pick 3 who are likely -
Kaiser Chiefs, TDCC, Bastille.
Craig David possibly. The Vaccines have lost their steam a little bit. The 1975 are set for latitude and seasick steve played wembley as a one off.

@oneoftherest mentioned over on Y Not thread that Truck had got a big headliner for this year, and with the line up coming next monday - what are people's thoughts?

I feel like people on this thread are under appreciating how popular Fatboy Slim actually is with 16-21 y/o's. From personal experience EVERYONE who would go to Reading that i know, knows him.

Now I have just received another email from Citadel with a new link, saying link in previous email was wrong!
just received the e-mail 10 minutes too late, would've been £10 cheaper but oh well. They're a relatively small festival and I'd pay £50 to see foals anywhere else so.
-
really really angry about the presale. the link didn't work so now i'm stuck with 1. more expensive tickets 2. having to fight others for one.
very frustrating
-
Feb 6th, really quite frustrating how far away that is. they've really dropped the ball slightly there.
i know it's petty but it just feels like we are getting none of the action concerning line up announcements.
very sad:(

jamie t for tomorrow's announcement maybe?

It better be worth the wait! I'm hoping its someone so big they are having to do some serious leg work to firm up the contract!
We can only hope and pray that it is a MASSIVE step up for the festival. Or maybe someone who is on tour atm?
I am excited still, i think truck is such a great festival. good crowd etc.
I am absolutely stumped for ideas though.

Major Lazer have already been announced tbh.
i know, should've announced them in this one instead.

Agreed. They take too long every year. Right now purely because they have taken so long I am looking at boardmasters.
It best be at the start of next week/at least by thursday or genuinely could see some people just forgetting about it.
On a more brighter note though, maybe they are waiting because the line up is SO good that they want the biggest amount of publicity possible?

I have seen black honey 3 or 4 times at festivals and their own gigs. one of the best live bands out there purely for the front lady, izzy. she completely holds the audience in the palm of her hand. would love to see them playing mid to upper NME next year, especially if they release their album. absolutely awesome band.
