  1. Hi, know things are getting closer and for myself things have seen some big changes. I have completed disability pack and tried to plan as much as possible, but still things plague me ?.

Firstly there are 3 of us (me and 2 daughters) and have agreement through glastopack we can all use shortcuts etc as necessary. I have hired a proper scooter through events mobility but am now slightly worried about returning each night (staying off site) and the state it'll be in ...what has it like in 2016 for that? I do have individual scooter so may be best to bling that up a bit and damage etc not so important.

3rdly and unlikely to be lastly, problem, but oxygen being discussed. Haven't looked around website yet for this yet but was wondering if anyone experience of this.

Most people outside of festival seem to prefer me not doing it at all which is a shame for me.

I think elderly people need much more one to one care than can be provided, it's not just what brought them into hospital, but general care needs.

We had 2 nurses between 4 of us, while the next ward had a less intensive ratio but more demands on their time.

Some of those on the next ward had carers.

Exactly this. My dad's been in hospital after a fall since March. But now getting rid of a chest infection is the main priority, not rehabilitation. And trying to get help in place for them when he comes out is proving somewhat lengthy. I wish I was fit enough to do more myself.

Trouble is on my many stays I've seen people who've come and been confused, they're given meds to calm them down, then they don't want to do anything or eat, and it spirals downwards.

Nhs is fantastic but completely on its knees.

    Hello feral,

I've only just realised that I've blurted my heart out to you.

Apologies, I didn't mean to lay that one on you, it just shot out of my head.

    Yog. :)

Just catching up with these threads, I hope you have got Mrs yog sorted now. Simple things such as a urine infection can send people loopy (sorry for using that term but can't think of another). There's a couple of very confused people on my ward currently.

Just got back from a girls trip to Poland - would highly recommend it. Amazing food and beer and the people are lovely too!

My family is pretty full on right now - Sister had her first baby this week, Mam is recovering from a hand operation and Dad has just been put into a care home to meet his needs for his Alzheimers. So my time is probably going to be a lot of taxiing, visiting and errands along with regular work.

Massively looking forward to the escape of the farm this year!

Taxiing and visiting is my life at the moment, along with own family and health stuff, as said above make sure you take care of you as well, it does get to you after a while.

  5. 18/5 afternoon tea

    26/5 friends birthday

    1/6 friends birthday

    5/6 muse

    7/6 Olly murs

Then a quiet couple weeks till Glastonbury. Those are the nice things, the other is getting all sorts in place so can get dad out of hospital where he's already been for 2 months ☹️

Cheers guys! Sorry to hear that Slash’s Hat and good work on this year. Maybe not give it the full GnR level of excess though! X

Ha, sober one for me. Pimping up my mobility scooter is as hard core as it'll get this year!

A friend died on Sunday (she was 3-fucking-4!). Having mulled it over for a few days, when I was pissed on the train last night with my headphones on, I decided that this song was the only sense I could make of it all (I sent it to my mate and he concurred):

Sorry for your loss Homer. As someone with major health problems myself at 44, I also concur. Was wondering about managing Glasto this year, but my 14 year old, wise head on her, said mum...go out with a bang!

Oh and Come Together gets my vote

  8. Been with mine aged 10 and 12. Have spent a lot of time in the circus tent as appeals to all ages, plus things like low wires for them to try out. Kidz field some crafty bits going on, and you can find some free/voluntary payment things in main craft fields. Kidz field has plenty of space to stretch out whilst they explore field on their own at that age. I did leave mine for a while last time while they saw dynamo and I went off to busted, depends how sensible they are about not leaving the field.

Took them round naughty corner when they were 12, just during the day to see the artistic side.

Also the cinema tends to have one latest release or even before general release for the kids. Last time was cars 3, which even at 12 mine were over the moon with. 14 this year and hoping for Toy Story!!

There will be the usual gripes as they get tired so just make sure of something to sit down on and dont expect them to love every minute. Even the adults have the odd "I've had enough" moments at a place so big.

Fair enough. Didn’t see vagisil comment, sounds unnecessarily grim whatever context. She’s unfortunately famous for a nipple slip so don’t think that’s necessarily sexism (though it might be). And most of the chat here is about how little people know Arcade Fire’s/Strokes/whoever’s songs so think that’s reaching. Fairly sure the same reaction would happen with some many other big sellers in the 80s/90s folk. But will quietly leave sexism discussion with a reminder to self that should know better than to get involved.

Mentioning the nipple slip thing is not sexist, someone mentioned it in the context you have about it being an incident that happened and it was fine, however another poster said "Get your nips out" which is a very different context.

    I'm out of votes.

Shame, isn't that always the way with these things. Still maybe if you hadn't of both downvoted and upvoted me minutes before posting this you might have had one left. Not that it bothers me in the slightest if you downvoted that other post, your call to make.

I've just realised that this is gonna look like one of those, 'I'm not sexist, I have lots of girl friends' things now.

Have edited my post to say didnt think this poll was sexist, but lets see if you're a man of your word and going to downvote that comment.

10- physical perfection so impossible by definition

9- highest mark possible. Very few in the world. Margot Robbie is one example ( in wolf of Wall Street particularly)

8- literally the best looking birds you will see in real life walking around. As I said you won't see that many. Maybe a few in a day walking round Chichester for 24 hours

7- this is as I have already said a very very good mark and means the bird is fit and a head turner. But you see more of them than the 8's.

6- very decent Mark. If you got 60% in an exam you would be pretty chuffed yes?!...think of it that way.

5- this is the average score. The bang average for a bird. So they are not hideous and they are not really that fit. Probably your bread and butter on a night out.

4- starting to get ropey here. On an evening out you would probably consider planting one up them with a few lagers down ya. I have smashed a few 4's in my time. We all have.

3- this is ropey. Either fat, or ugly. Not both.

2- fat and ugly. A fucking disgrace that you would be well embarrassed about.

1- absolutely rancid and the worst mark at all possible. I have rarely seen anyone pull a 1/10 genuinely apart from one of my mates Faz who pulled a retard, another mate who pulled a dwarf and another mate who pulled an ugly bird so fat he 'could not get his arms round her' and 'something came off her nipple in his mouth' when he was sucking her tits'

    0- Swans

    Do fuck off.

the decision was taken for a unavailable unicorn version of brexit, which means it was no decision, and is why polling is showing something entirely different for the real-world options.

I agree people voted for something on a basis  that with hindsight (A wonderful thing), can't and won't happen. There may be a lean towards remain now but still no huge swing even in light of what is known - which I find worrying. Result of holding 2nd vote is disillusioned voters again who won't bother turning out as government can't be trusted to respect their vote. Had I voted leave then I would be very unhappy with my local mp voting down Teresa's deal if they were supposed to be representing my whole constituency wish to leave. I understand the need to do so with backstop issue, and Theresa caught between rock and hard place on that one, but she has promised to get job done, one she promised in GE. What is Corbyn offering? What does he think he can get past EU that she can't? As representative of opposition surely he has a duty to turn up and put his case (If indeed he has one) across.

  14. Not in favour of a peoples vote as democratically the decision was taken and should be upheld. Personal views have to be put aside. Should have had discussion with eu then put options available up for vote in an ideal world.

Trouble with a 2nd referendum is also that there are those that voted leave based on one policy/issue. Immigration. There are still plenty who will ignore or don't understand the rest of the shit show going on and will still vote on that one issue. Those people are on my Facebook page (can't pick you're family unfortunately...Some serious tongue holding on my part going on).

Corbyn will have to nail his colours to his mast at some point and come out publicly with what he wants and truly believes he can get...which I suspect are miles apart. He does look foolish and petty to not engage in talks, though neither side could be considered to be rolling in glory over any of this.

  15. I'm sure the Madonna fee was mentioned in here as to what she would normally ask, not necessarily what she has/would ask of Glastonbury. Too far back to check that now. I'm clutching at this straw wholeheartedly. There is the possibility macca was never in the frame for this year, we've all just assumed he's being replaced.

I was wondering where I'd heard it before. I thought a speeded up Peter Gunn by art of noise

  17. Haven't read last few pages, but understand Macca is out. Did Emily actually rule Madonna out or just say she would be amazing? Apparently she's up for doing a turn on eurovision this year, new album about to drop, I can see it happening. I know people have said about her fee, but just because that's her usual doesn't mean she's not flexible for right coverage..which she would get tv wise.
