Oxfam have been collecting all the returns since the main giveaway on 1st Feb, including anything after the Resale.  In the next couple of weeks, probably announced upfront, they will release all those places; by my assessment, that will be certainly dozens, and probably quite a few more than that !

Crucially, Oxfams own cancellation deadline is Monday.

I'd expect that we hear something fairly soon after that, but probably not before.

Question about Oxfam volunteering; does anyone know if selecting the free Bristol shuttle bus option excludes you from being selected for pre-festival shifts? I’m happy to make my own way there if I’m lucky enough to be selected for pre-festival shifts, but I’m concerned that having selected the shuttle bus option they won’t consider me as I have a seat reserved on the Monday coach.

I think that it won't preclude you from being selected for pre-festival shifts.

But obviously, if you were to be selected, then you would be too late to get a refund on the bus, and you would still need to be able to make your own way to site on the Saturday.

This might be a daft question but is it only the actual  Fresh and Black tent's that stay cool? I borrowed a mates last year  and it was a game changer. I don't think I can go back to our usual tent. Do other blackout tents stay cool?

F&B is two things - the blackout aspect, and the reflective coating.

I'm not aware of anyone else combining the two factors yet, which in all honesty baffles me given how much better it is. Certainly blackout on its own just doesn't do enough of the job.

No I’ve just contacted them. I’m going to be so cheesed off (hehe) if I’ve purchased all this cheese and beer for nothing!

What does it say if you look it up on the Store Finder?

Again speaking locally, but when I go to click on "More about this store", the non main group stores have a note on the page saying "Part of XYZ Cooperative" (example). Whereas the pages for the main Co-op Group stores don't have anything like that.

Glastonbury is, as ever, a very different and much bigger beast, but I managed to get on the same shift pattern as my mates for Womad one year when I only got my spot a few days before the festival. Was fully expecting not to so was a pleasant surprise to pick up the shift sheets. And that was with 4 other people, one of whom was a deputy shift leader and two were supervisors.

    Sure, it's possible.

But I think probably shouldn't be taken as guaranteed, at least not past the cancellation deadline next week, and especially the later you get.

Which ones are the Coop Group stores? Are those the ones with the green sign? I visited the one on Manchester Oxford Road the other day (blue and grey signage) and they did have Clipper, but not the right packaging. They had boxes of Clipper with a competition that closed at the end of February (!!!) Going to see if I can find some later in the week.

Around here, there's 2 different types:

Co-op Group are the ones that are useful for the various competitions, and look like this:

There's also "Central Co-op", which don't participate in any competitions, and look like this:

I think the general rule of thumb is look for the Blue branding, combined with the "square" logo.

We’re after 1 Oxfam spot for my wife, having secured one myself back in Feb.

We’ve been weighing up whether to stick or twist with the cutoff coming up.

Your words sound encouraging though so we might have to stick it out and hammer the Oxfam site for that 1 spot!

I would be very confident that, with persistence, you'll be able to get a spot for her.

Where I would sound a note of caution is - there's a reasonable chance that you get the second spot after profiles have locked or after the rostering has been done - so you may not end up on the same shift pattern.

Unable to get a concrete answer on this, I've got friends with hospitality camping and I'm wondering if I can camp there with a crew wristband? Or in regular fields only?

    Any help appreciated!

Officially, with a crew band you should only be camping in the assigned crew field.

Practically, there's not much to stop you camping in the General Public fields, as the Festival can't realistically enforce that and once gates are open make only a token effort (if you pitch up in a public field on the Tuesday, they likely will remove the tent).

But the H fields do have people checking bands on the way in and should challenge someone without the correct accreditation - which in this case would probably mean a Hospitality festival (primary) wristband, a Hospitality paper wristband in conjunction with any other festival wristband, or an AAA/BAA laminate.

Can someone clear something up for me. The Glade poster drop had two line ups, one for Glade Dome the other for Glade Stage. Been to every Glasto since 2014 but was completely unaware there were two Glade stages. I always thought Glade was just that covered section in the trees to right of Other stage. I'm assuming that's the Glade dome because of how it looks, so where is the Glade stage?

It's basically the big-ish stage next door. If you find one, then you'd struggle not to find the other.

Trying to remember GlastoMap. Was that a photo during the festival or out of season? I remember there festival made them take it down.

Very much during the festival, and far higher res than this.

Its definitely before 3pm on Thursday as that is when we arrived and the Worthy View car park isn't as full to back where we were parked. Its not that far off though so would guess some time Thursday morning.

Yeah, it's definitely not Friday onwards.

Just looking at the Pyramid field, the NHS message hasn't had a chance to fade, and the build work on the Pyramid sound system is still ongoing - so the stage hadn't opened yet.

There's crowds at some of the smaller stages around T&C, which suggests to me that it's probably Thursday. I reckon probably about noon-ish.

i know someone says this every year, but it does seem to be very bare given that things are starting in just 9 weeks time?

The "official" build doesn't start until May.

Anything done prior to that is just the farm hands doing a bit of prep work.

Can’t quite remember when the onsite portaloos dissapeared might have been a fair bit earlier

In terms of public areas inside the fence, about 17-20 years ago.

Though obviously they still exist outside the fence, and in some non-public areas where low volume provision is needed.

Most you have to give your registration number to Glastonbury so they’ll void the win if you’ve already got tickets (it’s in a lot of the terms and conditions for the comps)

I'd assume most people have more than one registration number though. I'd certainly give them a different one.

I'm a bit obsessed with winning tickets, but I'm going anyway. Is that weird?

I reckon that competitions closing prior to the cancellation deadline are certainly fair game - get your ticket for free (minus the cancellation fees), and can bring in a friend who doesn't have a ticket yet.

Not bothering with anything after that.

I work alongside some of the site crew who do that every year, they go out to meet them and the driver just drops and goes.

It's not viable advice for general public, though.

Aside from the fact that enforcement increases tenfold on show days, the public are heavily discouraged from getting anywhere near the area.

Is there a bus to Shepton Mallet? If so, there is a Tesco there. Otherwise it would be bus to Glasto Town and then a walk to one of the supermarkets

    There is.

The quickest/cheapest bus to a local town is the hourly shuttle to Shepton Mallet, and it stops right outside Tesco (which I've never been in, but I've heard stocks up especially for the Festival).

    Any recommendations for glasto alternatives?

There's always a problem with this kind of question in that it depends on personal preferences - which specific parts of Glastonbury you (and they) would enjoy, and also how much weight do you give to your preferences against theirs? Age will be a factor as well.

Personally I tend to think that if I had kids, the first festival I'd take them to would be Shambala because of the amount of creativity, variety, and sheer colourfulness on display. Also because I think that while it's not specifically a festival designed for "kids" in the way that Camp Bestival and Latitude are, it does feel very safe (with the natural and pretty much universal caveats of things can get wilder after hours) and it's certainly less manic / so much easier than Glastonbury.

For my taste it's got the balance spot on of being very kid friendly, while not detracting from the experience for adults at all - you can go with kids, or you can go as a group of adult friends and both work equally well. On the other hand, Shambala does sometimes put people off because of the relatively high ticket price versus a lineup that (for the most part) is largely unknown so if big name acts are important then it may not be for you.
