  1. Yes, Left Field was on the corner itself. But given that WG was only about 3 or 4 stalls down from the corner, for me that's not a distinction of any substance and it counts as essentially the same location.
  2. Williams Green was a replacement for the Queens Head. Which in turn was previously known as The Crown, when it was in the Other Stage field. The spot across from the Meeting Point was previously occupied by the Left Field.
  3. Or indeed - one of the most useful and yet overlooked features of Clashfinder (the Desktop version, anyway) is that it has the option to export to Google / Apple Calendars so you can easily use the functionality built into your phone.
  4. I'm not convinced that Carhenge was a cheap option. At least, not in Year One. If it was just a straight chop and weld, that'd be one thing. But putting down foundations for it (as they seemingly have done) requires proper planning and a decent wedge of cash. I'd be very surprised if it came in any cheaper for 2023 than Williams Green would have. Where it potentially becomes cheaper is if they insist on persisting with it going forward.
  5. As do Red and Blue Gates. Don't *think* each of the individual vehicle gates have their own (the ones I've worked on certainly didn't anyway), and instead are covered by the relevant Red/Blue Gate Manager.
  6. This is obvious of course, but.. you *are* going to check it before the festival, right? And ideally give it a soaking. Decathlon allow you to buy replacements parts for the main components, but that's only useful if you know to do so in advance.
  7. I'd argue one of the main changes that GFL need to make is that they need to learn to say "No" to Joe Rush.
  8. Still can't believe you left that tap running.
  9. That looks a LOT like one of the Ethiad model planes that used to live on the roundabout just outside Heathrow Terminal 4:
  10. Disagree with this almost entirely. It was excellent last year - the only minor issues I noticed were just before Elton started, and that was with 150k+ all crammed into the Pyramid field so forgivable. But prior to that and especially in 2022 I felt that it got worse year on year - which could just be that they made the same provision, but usage increased. I came away from 2022 fully intending to make sure I was on EE the following year, and would have done so if Voda hadn't taken over the contract. One consideration would be that I didn't have a 5G capable phone in those years so that may make a difference.
  11. You just sign in with your Virgin Media account, the option should be on the login page:
  12. If it helps, you also get access to O2 Priority via Virgin Media Broadband so don't have to use their awful mobile network.
  13. It'd be less of an issue if the same council (along with South Derbyshire who also have some jurisdiction) hadn't spent the last 50 years dragging their feet over a permanent replacement for the "temporary" bridge installed at Walton-On-Trent in the 1970s, which would be the other obvious access route for Catton Hall. They're now saying it'll open in 2025 but you won't find many people who believe that date.
  14. Most likely yes - Oxfam will have a better idea of how many places they need to fill once the deadline has passed. Obviously that creates something of a vicious circle for you, but it's kinda the only way it can work.
  15. Yeah, it's going to be a pain. But for me I'm 100% blaming the council for that. The fact that the bridge has been left to decay for years to the extent that it now has severe limits on it for safety reasons is disgraceful. It's not like it's even a surprise, this is something that's been getting worse and worse over the past several years. I'm wondering if it'll be worth driving a slightly longer route via Tamworth on the way home, and so avoiding the need to cross the river entirely. The problem is that the turning for Tamworth is pretty close to the bridge, so will still likely end up catching most of the same traffic anyway. Hopefully Bearded can negotiate with the council to make that stretch of road one-way-only for 4 hours or so on Wednesday morning, as that'd make a huge difference.
  16. In terms of WhatsApp, for all the day to day stuff it's just using basic internet connectivity, so it doesn't care whether that comes through the original sim, on a different or second sim, or via wifi. Adding a second sim to the phone just gives extra options for data. Even temporarily swapping the main sim out would be fine for most things, the only thing that'd lose access to would be standard phone calls and sms. The only time WhatsApp ever needs to use the mobile number it's registered against is when it checks it during installation, or if it needs to re-verify for some reason.
  17. Best guess based on precedent would be the 18th and 21st. But could plausibly be the weekend after, and possibly (though much less likely) the weekend before.
  18. What I'd suggest for anyone who doesn't want to switch networks just on the basis of Glastonbury - you can easily get a pay as you go sim with a few GB of data on a Vodafone or EE based network for £10 (or potentially less), and just drop it into the second sim slot in your phone. Then while you're at the festival tell the phone to use that sim, and cancel any subscription straight after. VOXI would be good for that, as their plans don't count social media (including WhatsApp) towards the limit.

    Faithless

Not sure they will. Firstly because they installed a new (permanent) path along the top of Row Mead, which for me shows intent to use (and keep) it as a much needed extra access/egress route (which they also need to better link to the path going through The Woods, but I'm sure they realise that). But also because I think that if they did want to add stalls, there's a better location - taking space out of Big Ground and/or Kidney Mead would be the first place they'd call upon.
  20. The two Mels are desperate for it - it's always one of them trying to manifest it and the festival ignoring them or shutting it down. The others, yeah, it's not happening.
  21. Big Weekend has always been something of an exception to festival exclusives, because it's seen more as a promotional event than a proper festival set. Most of the acts only do 30 minute sets performed for the cameras - the crowd is there almost as set dressing. Even the "headliner" usually only gets an hour so it's not really the same.

    Dexys?

Don't see that making any difference given that it's middle of the day on The Park. At best they'll get a couple songs on one of the main broadcasts, and maybe an extended set on BBC4 and/or iPlayer for the more dedicated fans to seek out.
  23. Moving the SE Corner queue point into the Avalon Field would be one of the dumbest moves they could make.. The existing queue filters straight from Bellas Field into the fairly spacious (and, so far at least, underutilised) IICON field and has worked reasonably well for years. Moving the queue into the Avalon Field would be f**king mental. Avalon itself can already get crowded at various times of day (including at headliner time) and their headliners finish 30 minutes later than on the other main stages. The only gate to the SE corner feeds directly into Block 9 which itself is more of a desirable destination and can get overcrowded especially with loads heading to NYC Downlow once main stage headliners have finished (and for 30 minutes, Avalon is still running).
  24. Yeah, the shine brightly then go away thing is a huge and sometimes overlooked factor. It's led to both Pixies and The Libertines headlining Reading + Leeds on their first time back, then as they subsequently stuck around gradually dropping down the bills to the extent that they'd now be more like 3rd on the stage. Closer to home, there's no way that The Verve get the call to headline Glastonbury if they hadn't spent almost 10 years telling everyone they'd never get back together.
