  1. Just wishful thinking and more pot stirring given I am struggling with 0 lineup news 😄 Having listened to it yesterday then saw the Irish gigs announced, felt like a "ahhh this is a perfect glasto secret set booking".

Agree, though unfortunately - think the festival would probably stay well clear. No need to bring unnecessary negative press on itself when you have many bands able to do it.

Pretty sure AF have been doing festivals for a while though right?

If they do though, call me the oracle.

Has glastonbury booked a seriously questionable booking in recent years? Perhaps Kanye but maybe that was before the more sinister stuff?

  2. I think people forget Coldplay at Glastonbury are actually very very good.

Cant see Stevie being better than 2010 though and Dua Lipa will be Billie esque - not iconic but not bad

just seen this come up on Sky News, can only mean more people will sign up and try for tickets in 2 weeks!!!

Completely agree - this will lead to increased demand.

I don’t know what was being suggested in 2009 but how on earth are you comparing global pop star Olivia Rodrigo to indie critic darlings Wilco ? 😂

haha just that I swear people here years ago were saying Wilco only a matter of time when half the population had no f**king idea who they were 😄

  5. The thing is, you will go if you really want to. Whether trying for tickets or volunteering.

You do need to have your number with as many groups as possible - bud you really really owe it on them to communicate clearly and quickly once your ticket has been bought. I’ve seen it happen where people are blocked out.

  6. Someone has mentioned but I do think that was probably the peak of Glastonbury in terms of the excitement, scale and coverage re a headliner (by virtue of them having booked nearly every other legend over the years).

Can't see that level of mass excitement happening in the future. Doesn't mean there are not going to be great headline sets and future stars (of course there will be) but in a weird way it like a passing of the torch for the festival to the next generation rather than constantly looking back to grab "legends".

And I think Elton wanted it that way.

  7. Re-watching this. I think it actually is in the top 3 greatest ever glastonbury headline sets. His voice is shot but my god that crowd was special and he really knew what a glastonbury slot meant.

    A legend being a legend - perfection.
