I’d suggest with the money they gained from the World Cup visit I don’t think things will be worse … my expectations have risen for the new evolvement next year .

hope you're correct, it doesn't need a lot, although i'm sceptical about the expansion of the field area if they haven't boosted their sound quality, as last year we weren't exactly miles away but the sound fell away

it's very clever and i'm all for it being run on renewable energy of course. i do worry that it has the potential to seem a bit lesser this year as a compromise

With the info we have on the Friday Woodsies TBA (band, not huge) and looking at the bands around and touring, I can’t look past Bombay Bicycle Club/TDCC. Trying to brainstorm others who’d be playing a similar sized slot to courteeners, who would still generate some sort of excitement in an unannounced slot on a Friday night/try and split crowds from the pyramid ever so slightly. Not to say either of those are going to cause much excitement, but if the info we’re given is not to expect someone the size of Blur, Pulp, 1975, Florence etc I can’t really think of any other bands a few tiers down who’d fit into that slot. Others who have played the festival/may be around too who would potentially do that slot would possibly be Tame Impala (doubtful, no dates), Interpol (not mentioned at all), Frank Ferdinand, Bon Iver (germany the week before).

Aware that this is a churnups thread sorry, I’m just starting to become more puzzled by this TBA than the churnups themselves. Has to be either Foos or Pulp at this point now.

have we ruled out Soft Play (formerly Slaves) and Nothing But Thieves for that woodsies slot?

Floorplan on IICON last year was one of the best sets I saw

Firmly agreed I thought they were class, Save Me went offffff

Hoping for a similar act this year , just wall to wall stompers before getting very weird (Mark Blair would be a wet dream)

  7. Is there anyone we're expecting? i reckon hessle will make an appearance in some capacity, whether it be solo sets from any of them or a mirror of their SH slot

unsure what the direction of block9 will be if they're tryna pull people to other areas of the site , maybe it goes very niche this year, or maybe they've smashed it out the park with big names because the flow through that area is pretty decent

I like the seemingly random direction the arrows point from each bar. Looks like it’s going to be a memorable bar crawl for sure.

i was trying not to overlay any important landmarks or areas, but yeah it seems a bit chaotic 😂

  9. Afternoon troops! Getting to that time where the excitement has me doing pointless bits in my spare time . Tried finding an up-to-date bar crawl to no avail, so I made one myself! This is our own personal group bar crawl so it's not going to have everyone's favourites or be in the correct order for everyone. But feel free to nab it if you're stuck or can't be arsed to cross-reference 6 different maps and directions

    Much Love

  10. It's a year that i know is solid for certain people, but for me personally i don't think there's an act on there for me this year that absolutely unmissable. However that makes me almost more excited because i'm not constrained to a schedule and i can just enjoy being there doing whatever without constantly thinking about the next act

  11. i did it in 2019 and it was good fun but yeah that was arguably the heaviest we went all week - rinsed our alcohol supplies and putting our tent up on the biggest crash i've ever experienced

i'd be tmepted to do it this year (with some behaviour modifications lol) just because it's the summer solstice, and i think getting a sunrise in glasto would be quite special

Does Skream need a third DJ set? Could they not have booked someone else? (I know he does different styles).

he's porbably doing another 2 as well. i will be at all of them .

Slowly working my way through the Silver Hayes posters, enjoying LaLa and this set a lot.

yeahhh this is a great little set, her Rinse FM mixes on soundcloud are solid as well, hopefully she's on either side of Hobo Jones at Avalon as i'd love to check her out

Female DJ's are just absolutely hitting the nail on the head with the slightly heavier house at the minute

A massively left field one, but down the years I have discovered that pretty much the only thing I can continue drinking in such "scenarios" is, of all things, Pimms!

i am absolutely here for the pimms, big fan of it with the cheap Barr cherryade as well, might have to decant a bottle for this year now you've said that !

Rum is also a bangin' alternative to Voddy in an Espresso Martini.

Discarded Banana Rum from Sainsburys (other supermarkets are available) is a great rum to use. Any dark or spiced rum really mixes well in an Espresso Martini.

Although technically NOT a Martini, they're nicer than Vodka. I don't mind Vodka Espresso Martini's but I won't make anything other than rum ones at home. Might have to try the Jameson Caskmates now you've said it!

yeah 100% this! i work in a bar and one of our cocktails is a banana espresso martini with Discarded banana rum! i personally prefer it as a winter drink but it's a cracking alternative

If you're a drinker always, and I mean, always have vodka and Kahlua on your person at all times.  Walk past a milk stand? it's white russian time.  Somewhere sells cold coffee? boy you just got yourself an espresso martini. It's a genuine lifesaver.

on the flipside of this, if, like me, you can't drink vodka ( i get too emotional on it so really try to avoid it, and also it mixes really badly with some "medicines" as well personally) but you love an espresso martini, i highly recommend switching it with Jameson's caskmates stout edition  https://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/p/31012/jameson-caskmates-stout-edition it makes for a phenomenal espresso martini

  17. I'm very very tempted to do the overnight Tuesday this year, purely because the Solstice is on the wednesday so seeing that come up in the fields could be a bit special

(having said that it could piss it down with rain so then i'm sleep deprived and i don't get the sunrise)

Seems a bit of victim of it's own success. I always enjoyed Baggy Mondays but the crowds were so horrendous last year we gave up and went elsewhere as you couldn't hear a thing.

this is the thing, espeically regarding the thursday entertainment as well . As someone who's really into dance and electronic music, The Thursday lineup for me at Stonebridge last year was absolutely stacked, one of the best runs of DJ's of any stages of the whole weekend.  if i could've found a way in i'd have been there all night, but i couldn't even get in the same postcode as it, and even if i could, if i needed a toilet i'd be right back at square one

  19. anyone reckon they could do anything with stonebridge this year? absolute roadblock from thursday afternoon all the way through (a lot moreso than previous years), but seems in a really awkward position to really expand it
