The main thing that baffles me is people getting swayed on their choice of who to see based on them being ‘legends’ or a ‘secret set’ or my ultimate pet hate ‘I’m not a fan, I’m going to watch them just so I can say that I’ve seen them’.

if they are legends fair enough but why are you watching them based solely on that? My mate said that he wasn’t watching Fontaines with us because he wanted to see Diana Ross because ‘she’s a legend’. After a while he turned up to see Fontaines with us.
He said that he had a realisation when ‘Baby Love’ came on that he is not really a fan,has never consciously listened to that song, will never play it deliberately or add it to a playlist or anything. It’s not the type of music or artist he normally likes.

Then realised that he’d been swayed by the hype of the legends slot.

Same for secret sets, if I don’t want to watch a band when they normally play at a festival then I don’t want to see them at a secret set.Yet people are looking to see who are playing a secret set then suddenly are going to watch a band that they wouldn’t even look up at when walking past if they were playing a normal set.

As for ‘just to say I’ve seen them’, how does that conversation go?

’I saw Paul McCartney at the weekend’

    ’Wow! Are you a fan’

    ’not really’

’why did you watch him then?’

’just to say I’ve seen him’

’who are you going to say that to?’

    ’um,people like you’

    ’……. Oh’

    Yup, baffling.

Exactly this.   Didn’t go to Macca as his songs have no part in my life.
pleased for everyone who loved him

  2. Overall Sticklinch was great.  Not enough loos but easily fixed.
heard there were both tent robbings on Thursday and Friday, and also people climbing the Sticklinch wall as it was lower than the main fence then bursting past security and into the main site.
If so - going to need to boost security next year

  3. thansk but doesn't quite answer the question

where do you turn off the a37 - wraxall the same as Worthy view, or carry on until the a361 then towards Pilton, through Pilton then turn off to Stickleball.  going to be a pain if we have to do that especially on Monday

  4. It says follow orange route

previously we’ve stayed at Worthy view which is easy coming from London

for Sticklinch will we have to go right up the a37 turn left and round the top of the festival to rest Sticklinch? Or could we turn left where we did for worthy view and then drive along east then north to Sticklinch?
directions are pretty limited on the email

    cheers

  5. nearly 50 here.  disappointed that there isn't any proper hard stuff on the bill anywhere. that Pastis and Buenri look good.

lookign forward to it, but i find most of the techno acts on a bit weak, and the house is very disco based. Jsut different times and different tastes.  each to their own.

also would love soem proper 90s house - Mark XTC in the Spaceport was always good for this.

  6. Asked this in main chat but no response.  Anyone got an idea how Kurupt FM will work at Arcadia as normally it’s very much a “show” with DJing and there’s obviously not room to do that in the spiders belly

  7. When are car park tickets (specifically) Sticklinch likely to be sent? If they go to the main bookers address and it’s only a few day before they won’t be able to forward them to me
