  1. Hey Zico, I went for my first time last year (just a few years younger than yourself). I had a fantastic time, even trudging through the mud on the Thursday.

I'd recommend getting there on the Wednesday, so you have a couple of days to just wander around - I spoke to mates who'd been before who tried to explain the size, but I couldn't comprehend it until I was actually there. On the Wednesday, walked up the hill to the Glastonbury Sign and was told not to look back till we reached the top - it was completely worth it to get a panoramic view of the site.

I realised that you can't take it all in within those few days so am looking forward to exploring more next year.

My parent's who are in their 60's are going for the first time this year. It's debatable as to whether they're more excited than I am.

I hope you have a fantastic festival! :D

  2. Fleetwood Mac - 3/10 At present, not a band I've listened to that much. I think they're pretty much guaranteed to take one of the headline slots. I need to listen to some of their stuff, which may change my score.

Daft Punk - 2/10 - I like a couple of the songs. They appear to have the potential to put on a spectacular stage/lazer show. My own preference is for more intimate venues without the gimmicks. Wouldn't be a priority for me personally

Depeche Mode - 6/10 - I was singing/shouting Wigan's interpretation of 'just can't get enough' at the footy this afternoon. Some fond memories to a few of their songs. I would go and watch if they played and would have a pleasant time. As a headliner on the Pyramid, I think there are stronger bands/artists. They don't have the wow factor for me personally.

David Bowie - 10/10 - Absolutely love Bowie. I was hoping for a reunion with Mick Jagger last year to 'Dancing in the streets', Ha. New album out, plenty of old classics. I think he'd get a great response from the crowd with lots of sing-a-longs.

Elbow - 6/10 - Some good songs. I think they're more suited to play before the headliner. Based upon information that's come out so far, I think it's pretty much guaranteed they'll be playing, especially with the upcoming tour. I would like to see them play. However, it would depend upon which slot and who they clashed with as to whether I'd watch them live or catch up on TV when I get home.

Oasis -7/10 - Beardy Eye were bloody awful last year. However, Definitely Maybe and What's the Story remain great albums. I've never seen Oasis perform live and don't know how they went down with the crowds when they last played?! Personally, I visualise plenty of sing-a-long classics. I don't think it's likely the band will reform.

Prince - 5/10 - Never really appealed to me. Purple rain is a great song. If he was to headline, I'd try and head over a some of the set, before going off to explore other bands.

Kasabian - 3/10 - Somewhat indifferent. I'd watch part of the gig if they played and no doubt go and explore other stages. Not sure if they're up to headlining the Pyramid stage, but admittedly I'm not a devoted fan.

Arcade Fire - 7/10 - Some good songs. Would more than likely go to watch if headlining.

Foo Fighters (haven't been mentioned on here) 10/10 - Big fan of their stuff. I reckon they' put on a great performance and would get a good reaction from the crowd.

Extremely unlikely to feature according to betting odds, but Pink Floyd and Led Zep would both get 10/10. I would be really excited to Floyd or Zep do a headlining set - the place would be rammed.

  3. I would just like to say a massive thank you to Louise who sorted me and my wife and 4 of our friends out with tickets! I was having no joy at all even getting on to the registration page and ouise kindly offered to help as she had a session up again. I gave her my number, she phoned me up and a few minutes later our order was processed and confirmed. We can't thank her enough! It was a truly kind and generous thing to do!

THANK YOU! The ciders are on us Louise!

  4. I know - but hope is a cruel thing ;-). I'd be happy to work - I'm an old lady now past my partying prime so 6am litter picking starts don't bother me at all - but from what I can gather from years on this board, worker spots are hugely over subscribed...?

  5. Mates and family going, amazing feeling. Email took about 30 minutes to come through.

    Party time folks :D

P.S thank you so much for the advice on F5 it worked a treat.

Much love to the forum :)

  6. Sorry to hear going through such a rough time. :(

I'd agree with everyone else saying go for it, then review the situation in April. In 9 months time it could be just the tonic you need.

I also separated from partner and am a little apprehensive about the memories and associations of Glasto. But I'm aware in 9 months time perspectives change, you meet new people and new memories are there to be made.

All the best dealing with personal challenges you're facing!! x

  7. If Bowie played, I would be unbelievably happy. Would also love to see Foo Fighters play.

Beady eye were hopeless last year and only seemed to get the crowd going when they did Oasis covers. There was an article on NME the other day saying Oasis wouldn't get back together.

I'm actually not bothered by who headlines the pyramid. As long as there is a good mix of bands on all the stages, a nice chilled and friendly environment, and mates and family who want to go get tickets, I'm happy with that.

Bowie and Foo fighters would be the icing on the cake though :)

  8. You people need some inspiration!!!

Efestivals hear me! It is true what many of you have heard. See Tickets have gathered an army and as I speak that army is getting quicker at processing tickets. Believe me when I say we have a difficult time ahead of us but if we are to be prepared for it we must first shed our fear of it. I stand hear before you now truly unafraid! Why?! Because I believe something you do not? No! I stand here without fear because I remember. I remember that I am hear not because of the path that lay before me.. but because of the path that lies behind me! I remember that for 13 years we have fought these ticket systems! I remember that for 13 years they have purchased new severs to destroy our hope of getting tickets and after a decade of war I remember that which matters most! We are still here! tonight let us send a message to that sever! Let us shake this websites ! Tonight let us tremble these wires of plastic, copper and light signals! Let us be heard from router to server! Tonight let us make them remember this is Efestivals and we are not afraid!

  9. I'd agree to keep the capacity as it is. Like many have said, the pyramid stage just can't deal with the number of people, especially when it comes to headline acts and everyone is trying to get there via left and right hand side of stage.

I preferred the other stage as it was more open and could head to the back and still get a decent view, but with more space.

Plus the impact on the environment, having to create more car parking spaces, more areas of the farm becoming a dumping site for lazy people who just leave their stuff.

Then there's the idiots who turn up late, decide they want to camp in the more popular areas and try and get you to move your tent so they can fit theirs in (when you've got a small two person tent and nowhere to move it), when you've waited to get in the festival early to secure a good spot.
