  1. I've found accuweather tend to be fairly reliable, given the heat on Tuesday an hour of rain in the afternoon should dry up quickly by the time the carparks open.

  2. I'm also doing Glastonbury solo, a bit nervous when it comes to meeting new people, but hoping to meet some lovely people with Camp Solo. its reassuring to know I'm not alone in feeling a bit nervous, but also positive stories from those who have previously done the festival solo.

is it me or is the UK bit red as well?

Could we get an announcement for them very soon?

It looks a little pink around London to me.

I'll be stoked if the Foos are announced....takes a bit to get me to watch a headliner on the pyramid!

  4. Saw the twice on their most recent tour and aiming for three dates in April/May.

I agree - the albums don't do the live shows justice - so much fun and great singalongs.

Ive asked if they'll play Glasto and at present have said they'd like to.

    Fingers crossed they get booked!

The Sun (who are usually pretty good with this stuff) announced that he was one of next years headliners some time ago. he may not have anything announced yet but it's a fairly safe bet that he'll have a new album out and be touring next year, and what with him voicing his desire to headline the festival it seems like a fairly obvious and easy booking for both parties. the only thing standing in his way at the moment is the Daft Punk rumour, which is almost definitely misguided imo. can't see past the trio being Stone Roses, Radiohead and Ed Sheeran myself

Ah cheers for that. I've seen a lot more about Daft Punk in recent weeks. From the small amount I saw of Ed's set in 2014 he seemed to have the crowd on board - admittedly I did wander off to watch The Wailers.

I'm intrigued if Bastille will be back as they have a new album...sub headliner on the other?

However, as this is the legends thread I'll leave such speculation for more appropriate places :)

Wednesday: Beer + Cider + Amazing Food + Fireworks + Incredible atmosphere of excitement

Thursday: Beer + Cider + Amazing Food + Beans on Toast followed by The Correspondents followed by Crystal Fighters on the Hell Stage

Friday: Other Stage Opener is Elbow followed by Blondie, I then catch Hobo Jones at Avalon and head over to Bears Den at the Park, I then see The Pet Shop Boys subbing and Daft Punk Headliner Set and then wonder off for some illegalities in the naughty corner.

Saturday: I'm brought back to life by Frank Turner, then see Leonard Cohen, James Brown and The Highway Men, Chvrches and David Bowie finishes off with a killer headliner set. I spend the evening in the green fields making new friends and talking a load of bollocks.

Sunday: I catch Lady Gaga performing at the Stone Circle, watch a bit of Billy Bragg, stumble across Scroobius Pip vs Dan le Sac at Leftfield and then Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros on the Pyramid, Elton does the Legend slot finishing on Circle of Life and Fleetwood Mac Headline, I then stumble in to a worm hole and come out the other end on Wednesday morning except this time round I get to choose different bands!

Alongside Beans on Toast and Frank, I' d have an xtra mile stage, with skinny lister, will varley, Ben Marwood etc.

Need to think the rest through in much more detail.

  7. why the verbal abuse and assumptions about people on WF? Do these have any evidence base as a foundation? I'm a bit naive on this as its not an area of the festival that I have any experience of.

Ive gone for the cheapest option at TF for health reasons, I intend to spend as minimal time as possible in TF...in general I really don't like the pyramid for headliners - people seem to be ruthless pushing and shoving each other and a mass crush on the way out. Unless it's some spectacular I'll be elsewhere and getting in to the naughty corner early on!

Ive camped in bushy ground and park area - both times surrounded by young kids who leave the site like a shit tip during and after the festival - tents placed practically on top of each etc.

i have no idea if TF will make that part of the festival a little easier, but thought it's worth a shot having car near to a set up tent and being able to get up early for a shower to set me up for the day.

if those things don't matter to someone then fair play to you! I'm getting older and like a little comfort these days!

I've not stayed in my tent beyond 8am, normally it's too light/warm and I can sleep after the festival when I get home.

I'd rather chill out at greenfields in the morning with a smoothie than off site.

just to challenge a few stereotypes posted here :)

Haven't listened yet but downloaded the new album today.

After listening to her new album I'd also be quite happy to see Solange appear on WH on a sunny afternoon

I've been to see skinny lister twice last week. Absolutely cracking band and guaranteed to get people dancing.

support act funke and two tonne baby was also pretty good!

Had a thought while listening to a playlist on the drive home.

Tracy Chapman on either WH or Acoustic please.

    That would be awesome!

would love to see Ani Di Franco, skinny lister, will varley, the roots, Michael franti, Jamie T. Be stoked if Radiohead and SR rumours are accurate.

Looking forward to to discovering new acts at smaller venues.

  10. I'm a little perplexed by phrases such as 'posh', 'entitled' and 'c***s' are being thrown about.

There seems to be a lot of assumptions and stereotypes based on how and what people choose to spend their money on.

first off I'm just bloody greatful to have a ticket and the opportunity to go to an awesome festival, which in general has a cracking atmosphere.

I've camped 2/2 times in general camping area/showered at greenpeace etc.

The flip side for me is having a bad back, and despite using a trolley, my back appears to rebell a the trek from the car park.

Second factor is OCD....it's a bugger, but I don't want to miss out because of it. So camping at TF this year is a first/luxury which I hope makes things a little easier on a personal level.

I don't drink/use drugs so save a fortune that a lot of attendees are likely to spend their money on.

surely the main thing is we all have a cracking time with old friends and new in whatever way we choose to do so?

  11. Thanks for the help. I've gone for TF. Not sure what leave I can get with work and a dodgy back, so having a tent set up takes pressure off and means less to carry with a much shorter walk! Downside is missing the atmosphere camping on site - but I'm just stoked to be going.

  12. Having done 2 Glastonburys in traditional camping style, I'm looking at options of a little more luxury this year. Does anyone have any experiences of camping at the pop up motel/tangerine fields. There seems to be 9 quid difference, with a tent already being pitched at tangerine fields, whilst you pay to pitch your own at the pop up.

What's the quality of the shower/toilet facilities?

How far are they from the gates/how safe are they to walk back to at night?

How far is car parking from the tend?

What's the quality of the tents like at tangerine? How much space do you get for a pitch at the pop up?

Are there any other options people are aware of that keep under the 350 region that you would recommend instead?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thanks x
