    This is lovely!

He was a top guy, telling us stories of Glastonburys long passed. A true veteran - sadly only saw him Thursday morning, must of been away partying the rest of the time!

  2. To the chap who camped near us - you asked if we could boil you some water for a coffee and stayed for a natter with us. You noticed we were running low on water and by the time we had returned to our tent there was a water carrier filled for us just inside. Cheers Bo.

To the drunk teacher that shared his rum with me and kept wanted to put me on your shoulders at Sugababes - thanks for the laughs!

Don’t think it’ll happen but I think Snoop Dogg would be a good leftfield option.

What a great option though! I reckon he would draw a huge crowd!

Was this at the Park during Wet Leg and Confidence Man? I was in the crowd but my missus said a guy was trying to run into the gate constantly and was getting aggro with passers by. Apparently on a bad acid trip, had to be held down by security for about two hours before being carried away kicking and screaming. Poor bloke looked terrified.

I think it might of been actually! Husband was heading down from Park to me so that makes sense. Hope the guy is OK now - what a crap end to his festival.

After Melanie C popping up so much this year I'm actually leaning towards The Spice Girls doing it next year? A case of someone coming to check the festival out before doing it? She certainly looked energised and ecstatic to be there during her set and in NYC Downlow. Geri was also spotted on site.

Also the surprise of Mel C singing Spice up your life with Blossoms absolutely nailed that the crowd would love it. Everyone was having a party once Mel C came out!

  6. Agree with the signal... but this worked for me as I'm terribly drawn in by social media and couldn't access so much as a text message all weekend so I was really off grid - throughly enjoyed it.

We saw Emily walking from theatre and circus towards Diana Ross. Also saw Andy (dinosaur adventures cbeebies) at Diana Ross. Saw Lekkido the lobster King twice...both times he sent me a pinchy pinchy kiss kiss when I snapped my claws at him!

On the topic of it seeming a bit more aggressive this year...my husband was coming to meet me after we split to watch something and a man looking very frightened and covered in cuts and blood sprinted full pelt towards him, ran past and then lamped out a complete stranger. Security nowhere to be seen and some other people ran off to get help, shouting for them as the stewards basically backed away. The guy then ran into a fence over and over again until security arrived. Husband was really freaked out by it all - probably someone in a very bad condition from some nasty drugs I guess.

  7. Absolutely noticeably cleaner this year! I didn't find myself walking on cans or plastic bottles even around Pyramid. The recycling staff do such an amazing job but I noticed everyone seemed to be taking their things to bins more this year too.

Didn’t catch the pier the first time so it’s not “new” but it was new for me…and it fucking rocked! What a great addition.

Also loved this area (new for me too). Had a Dismaland feel I thought!

My god the sound at the Pet Shop Boys was fantastic.

Sadly, had to leave part way through as my kiddo was exhausted but I could hear the whole set from my tent by Gate A in Darble - every word crystal clear. Fantastic sound! Pyramid needs some help next. Was by the tree for Diana Ross and couldn't hear a thing when she was speaking.

Find it weird that people do cocaine at festivals, when significantly more fun stuff to do .... i.e. LSD E and Mushrooms...

Absolutely. We saw people doing coke in the Gate A queue - now I'm no prude but coke at 8am in the boiling heat whilst you wait for 4 hours does not exactly seem much fun?

  11. Best - Vegan Vice fried 'chicken' bowl (what a time to be alive and not eat meat!)

Also of course the permaculture pakoras...delicious.

Worst - bowl of cold, dry chips to from theatre and circus to try and help my hangover. Just dull but was all I could stomach.

No i think you are in the wrong here - whole point of a festival is try things and move on if you don't like.  Go to the bands gig if you don't like this I think.

And I definitely moved on from some sets - but then I didn't force myself to the front of already packed out gigs to leave 10 mins later. Maybe its just me but I would hang back a bit if I wasn't sure- a bit of consideration for people in a crowd makes for a better experience for everyone.

If what people are saying about a noticeable uptick in Coke is true then this makes sense. It was terrible at Primavera but that was more to do with their shite double main stage setup where people would just talk through entire sets waiting for their next act to come on.

I noticed a lot of coke this year for sure.

  14. Maybe I'm getting old but I got a bit fed up of people being deep into a crowd and then trying to force their way out half way through the set. Presumably this is to head to somewhere else or that it just wasn't their thing but personally if either of these issues were facing me I would perhaps hang out towards the back of a set rather than squeezing myself in the middle and then disrupting everyone trying to get out.

Also chatters. I don't mind a quick natter etc but again in the thick of a crowd and groups just talking the whole way through and not even watching...just move out!

Those who have to film with their phones during the huge acts whose sets are being recorded and produced wonderfully for the BBC.

This. A woman in front of me literally spent the whole Macca set filming every song. We were up on the hill so not even a very good recording. As if you would watch it back...its what the BBC is for.

    Top sets for me -

    Macca - 9/10

I really enjoy anything Beatles but don't know much McCartneys own stuff but what a show! Bringing out Dave Grohl felt really emotional and Springsteen too. Live and let die went off! Loved it.

    IDLES- 9/10

First time I've seen the IDLES live and it was just perfect! Danced all the way through.

    Sugababes - 8/10

I was lucky enough to be in the tent fairly near the front. It was rammed but the crowd were in great spirits. I was on my own as the husband wasn't feeling it but ended up making friends and having a dance and drinking rum with a group. Such good fun.

    Griff - 8/10

Again, everyone dancing and singing along. She was so humbled by the crowd and looked like she was having a blast. Actually brought a tear to my eye.

The only set I saw that I didn't enjoy was Diana Ross but it wasn't her fault. I ended up so far away and in the wrong spot for the wind and couldn't hear a word she was saying when speaking. This is such a shame as I was so looking forward to seeing her. Left half way through.

    What a weekend!!

  17. Gate A was an absolute shit show. On a hot year, I always pack lots of frozen water and capri sun's and ended up giving 4 or 5 out to people absolutely desperate in the queue. One poor lad offered me £20 for one and looked very sorry for himself. I would never charge of course! Once we were in, we got a pass out to get our second lot of stuff in and there were cans of water offered everywhere...AFTER the queue had completely ended. Very poor organisation.

I'm old school and going all cash. Like to see what my budget is doing, especially over 5 days and because me and wifey split the budget even.

Are there (any of the main) bars that only accept card.

Note: I'm not a complete freak and use card in pretty much all other interactions outside of the festival.

This is me 100%. I like withdrawing my days money from the lockups and have the fear that if I just take my card I will get hammered and spend a fortune! Going to draw out my cash today I think and just have the cars ready for emergencys if stall holders won't take cash!

  19. I make good use of the lock ups every time. I actually saw a good tip that I might try - have a separate zip lock bag for each day with your outfit and cash in and then withdraw each morning (labelled 'wed' 'thurs' etc).

In the past, the lockups have been mostly used for our trolley and money. Each day, I will take out the cash I need and at the end of each day any coins spare go into the donation pot at the lockups.

We have only been robbed once. The bastards took our camping chairs from outside our tent! Not the end of the world of course but was a bit annoying!
