I remember watching England vs Portugal on the Pyramid in Euro 2004.

I was at that game. Flew home first thing Friday morning picked a bag up and got the coach straight to Glastonbury. Good times (other than the result).

  2. Just finished reading this. A great read for those that remember the late 80's early 90's underground free party rave scene and the build up to Castle Morton.

Takes me back to my first rave The Avon Free Party on Chipping Sodbury common in 1991. Good times.

Has anyone noticed any links of sets popping up on soundcloud/mixcloud?

Used to be a decent number about, not really seen any in recent years.

There's a few around. I've only listened to Ewan Mcvicars glade set which I enjoyed more than I thought I would. Fat boy and Fred again is also on soundcloud at the moment. Hoping Four tets set will be available some point soon

  4. I used to get massive FOMO and feel sick and upset at not going. Totally get why people feel the same.

Nowadays I embrace it. I'll watch it on TV have a few beers and be grateful that I've been 10 times in the last 25 years.

I remind myself that Glastonbury has given me the most amazing memories and if I never go again (which is quite likely) I'll always have those.

Had been debating out of Manc, London and Bristol - decided to go with Bristol. Will be about 8 of us. Love the city and easy to get to from Black Country area! Go up early and enjoy King Street before going on to the gig. I don't think I've ever been to a gig at a football ground before. Probably go for standing.

Been to a few gigs at Ashton Gate most recently Elton John. For a stadium gig it's really good venue...loads of toilets and bars easy to get in and out of and the sounds usually pretty good.

  6. Overall the BBC coverage is incredibly good and certainly helping me with not being there.

It's the first time I've watched it on TV for quite a few years and totally get how the coverage fuels people's desire to go next year. I went out with a bunch of mates yesterday and every single one of them said they'd try for tickets in October despite not normally being interested in going to gigs and hating camping!

Part of me wishes the BBC coverage wasn't available....might make it easier come ticket day.

Nice...he's done some cracking remixes over the years, I reckon.

After playing this out for a while, he's finally cleared the sample for this banger. Expect to hear it on several dancefloors over the summer:

Been hoping he'd release this ever since hearing it on his Lost Village set. Hell of a track. Thanks for this one

Patrick Topping into Monika Kruse at The Temple in 2019 (03:00 to 06:00) was one of the best moments of the festival for me.

That Monika Kruse set was my highlight from 2019. I was only there for the last bit of Topping I don't really get the hype myself. People do seem to love him I'm sure he knows how to throw a party.

I would be grateful, if it's not to personal or painful, if people on here could share their experiences of taking antidepressants, good or bad.

I've been told I'm anxious and depressed and have been offered them.

I'm extremely apprehensive. No amount of pills or talking to people is going to change the thing that is making me anxious and depressed, so is it really worth the possible side effects (for example, feeling even shittier).

    Thanks in advance.

I was prescribed Fluoxetine around the end of 2019 and was taking a lowish dose for around a year. Personally I had no noticeable side effects even though the GP said they could and more than likely would make me feel worse for a while (I still don't understand why that could happen when essentially I'm taking an 'upper').

I ended up taking myself off them as I felt they weren't really helping and I've still got 6 months worth in the cupboard.

Everyone's different and I know some people that have been on them for years they just didn't sort my depression and paranoia out. I have a handful of friends that have been on some form of antidepressants and as far as I'm aware none of them have had any serious side effects.

I did go through some therapy sessions which definitely helped my situation although it did take me a while to find a decent therapist or one which I felt I could really open up to.

The one thing that's really helped me and completely turned my outlook on life around is exercise. Personally I think GPs should give out gym memberships rather than antidepressants!

There's lots of ways to address or over come mental health issues other than antidepressants. I'm not against taking them at all but there are other options and it's worth trying out all of them that are available to you until you find one or a combination of a couple that help you out.

    All the best.

  10. After spending the previous 20 years partying and not really looking after myself physically and mentally I have turned in to a fitness freak over the last 2 years.

Lockdown definitely helped my new found obsession and I discovered the joys of trail running and crossfit. The culmination of this is that I've entered some Spartan races next year.

Has anyone on here ran a Spartan?

There's a Spartan weekend in Wales at the end of October which I'm going to watch to see what I've let myself in for but if anyone's got any experience of doing them I'd love to hear any advice.

Feels like Tokyo World has well and truly taken Love Saves' crown this year judging by the amount of tickets for sale! The Sunday Love Saves lineup is bizarrely unvaried, I feel like there must have been a change in the bookers...or maybe just Covid related money troubles.

(I'll be going all weekend though)

Tokyo World have pulled the stops out this year it seems quite a few people I know are choosing that over Love Saves after both line ups were released. I would do Tokyo World this year but it falls on the same weekend as the Bristol half marathon which I'm doing.

TW has never appealed to me much before and I've felt that LSTD has always had the upper hand on the line up but not this year.

Maybe Love Saves moving to the downs has got something to do with it? Always felt the downs is a terrible venue for a festival. Flat open and nondescript wish they'd moved it to Ashton Court or just stayed at Eastville personally.

  12. Can't think of a single reason why they'd call it a day after next year.

It may be the 50th anniversary but that doesn't really mean much in the context of future festivals and so long as it's turning a profit and is a sell out it'll continue for a long time yet.
