If you are around Acoustic, Mc and Cheese as a main and then Cake Hole for something sweet works out quite well.

(Women's institute! Found back the name... Hoping they reappear this year)

The WI are good, aren't they in the Greenpeace Fields area?

  2. That site is a large space with roads, and grass for parking up. There are toilets defo and showers(?) onsite, but you'd need to get the 24hr shuttle to arrive at the festival, probably at gate A. You can take your own food and booze on site, or buy it there. Given that you'll need to travel by shuttle, I'd suggest you take your week's booze and daily stuff in with you to leave in the lockups, so you're self sufficient for the day rather than travel back.

I tend to not bother to eat all day, unless one of my various wives (I've been going to Glasto so long I've been with two different wives; I'm not a bigamist) forces something on me. I try and eat as much as I can in the morning. Then I carry nuts and crisps around with me and shove them in as and when.

You could have left that bit for a conversation starter at the meet!

  4. Re the lockups, I suggest you book things in separately or in groups (eg cans in 4s and not the whole tray, 1 pair of shoes etc.), as when you present your ticket you'll get the whole stuff back not just part of it. I also photograph the ticket in case I lose it. They also appreciate money donations to support their group, but the lockups themselves are free. Gate C is CND run.

  5. I've found a therapist that might be able to help me. God, it's a relief that I might be able to break the cycles at last. I found them via chatting with a work colleague and the topic of mental health came up. He told me of his past, similar to mine and this therapist helped him. 4 weeks of expectations and mood swings till the first chat tonight and I now have a session booked in. Utter relief, with fingers crossed.

  6. I'm in CV East, so start with a 3 cup moka which keeps me going till the afternoon, and I can only remember coffee from the top right area when facing the Other Stage (bonus was the server singing "You're fit and you know it" to me. I'm impervious to sarcasm), or the tent at the bottom of the tent / sauna area.

Anyone with an aeropress, I can recommend the metal filters to remove the need for the paper filters.

If you base it on a count of flags then you're totally outnumbered by Mexicans.

I really wasn't basing it off flags, or Yorkshire would probably be the biggest geographical group of all!

In CV East, I'll have the Mexican and Yorkshire flags, does that cover all bases? We will be coming down from Leeds.

😅 Ah, Acoustic to Park, or the "Cirque du Sore Legs" as it's also known.

Like big mars bars, 75p per gallon petrol, o levels, you think it was last year and you can do it easy 😄😄

  9. Blue skies in Leeds today, lovely and warm. I bought some trail trainers to help with walking now, and the longer distances in June as I've got a bit of osteoarthritis in one knee. That's a bugger for getting to Acoustic from the Park in 20 minutes. I'm breaking them in going to the kitchen to make coffee, no need to rush into things...

  10. Tonight in Leeds.

Free tickets to Mdou Moctar at the Brudenell. We can't make the gig but if you want the tickets, let me know and I'll give you my details as they're on the door.

  11. I know you've been camping there before, but the only thing I'd add is to get hold of the parking steward as you get to the parking slot to explain what you want, so they can push the next van further down. That's what happened for us, and it saved our neighbour starting up the van to move down.

An apple I can do. I palmed the wristband off as quickly as I could so don’t have one.

What did you leave? The skies are blue in Leeds, keep it up 👍🏻

Evening all. I shall be making a sacrifice tomorrow. I always run in my shorts  and t shirt whatever the weather. So if it precipitates I shall get a soaking, smile, and praise the Weather gods. I may even place a token at the feet of el pointio to please said gods. What should it be?

A cider apple, or one of Chris Martin's wristbands.

    Hello gang!!!!!

How are we all? I am sorry for being AWOL but I have had a fair few 'life events' that have rendered me useless!

Back up and running happening now though, slowly but surely. My brain is a very odd place right now, more than usual!

Let's focus on the real issue in hand now- NFR NFC! Sacrifices, people. Sacrifices!!

    LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!! Who's in? 🙂

Been in proper Glastonbury mode since last week's amazing weather, fair to say today has been Jekyll and Hyde in that respect. Still slowly making my way through the playlist to try and discover some gems. The 'which stage do you visit' thread made me realise how few acts I do see each year!

Slightly concerned as I've got shin splints at the mo, I was a big fat fucker in 2019 and I've only got bigger and older since so am scared I might not last the pace for 5 days! Making my Bearded Theory debut in May though so that should be a good trial run. Fingers crossed I'd have recovered before Glastonbury.

Have you got any cushioned /shock absorbing soles? They worked for me in shoes. I'm in the same psychological state as you, so will be getting fitter by June 🤞🏻

    Just general CV Pass.

She wants to arrive on Friday morning - she only wants to be away from baby B on Friday and Saturday nights, then arrive home while she's in bed on Sunday night/Monday morning. I'm going to push for Thursday arrival and an extra night away.

One other thing to consider, which I forgot to mention, is we may have family camping next to the van. If this is the case, we will need to get there on Tuesday so they can enter the gate early doors on Wednesday. How easy would it be for me to get the van on site, drive my family's car home, then drive it back up to the east car parks on Thursday/Friday? Does that sound logistically plausible, if not a ballache?

So, you'll go to the CV fields to park up on Tuesday after 12 noon and your family (or driver with car, while the rest stop with you) go to the parking fields at 9m and join the queue, then you pick up the car after 9pm (optimistically) to drive home on the Wednesday night? You should be able to get over to them, but I don't know of any exit road, as it's set up as one way at the start of the festival. You'd need what3words to find their car easily. If that's a non starter, can you leave the car nearby, take them in the van, walk with them to the queue and then walk off site to a taxi or bus etc to get back to the car?

That's a lot of ballache, my friend. Good luck.
