  1. It all goes back to definition of legend.

To me legend would mean someone/ band who have had a long and influential  but not necessarily hugely successful in sales terms career.

To others it means an hour of songs they know but wouldnt necessarily want to pay to see.

Maybe its time to just let it die a,natural death rather than keep extending the meaning to make something fit as theyre avaialble.

Shania twain could still be playing but does it really need to be labelled legend.

  2. Windmills of my mind - any version. There is no version i have heard that has changed my mind on this. Although i am strangely pleased i did see it at Glastonbury by noel harrison.

Pretty sure most of the ticket price goes to charity.

I believe artists donate their fees/play for free (Daltry and Noel G are both patrons and pretty good at getting their mates to show up), See take their cut through booking fees so it's only really the venue that takes a cut.

Plus there's support/sponsorship from external companies that help with costs too.

Yep all time is donated free . According to townshend in 2000 it was costing him to play - dunno if he was paying the roadies out his own pocket or something. I know when i saw roger daltrey post pandemic (not charity gig) he said it was purely to give the support (roadies etc) an income. I know that its easy to be generous when you're minted  but still could take the dollar.

Robert plant has been playing tiny venues for 30quid (started to get bigger and more expensive last tour but  £50) and thats a full band. He could charge more and play bigger venues but again appears to be at a point he does it cos he wants to and not for the money.

  4. I delete so many photos of things i think i need to remember.  My phone is crap and as i see them i think- oh yeah i remember that - and i would anyway if someone mentioned it etc- or it's a j- i have no idea when that was.

Either way ive stopped even getting my phone out.  Its pointless for me and is definitely annoying for others.

    But yep im old

My friend got through 6 times and bought tickets for 36 of us. I am afraid to ask whether any nefarious efforts were used and the others in my group (who aren't eFesties/across online festival chatter) are just like "wow that's amazing, you're so lucky!"... I guess what I'm saying is, would it be fair to cancel all tickets bought on those servers if people didn't even know this method had been used to acquire their tickets?

Apparently life isn't fair so you would just shrug your shoulders and move on.

(No - it would be a sh*t move, but the grey area is when people start chucking a few quid to a 'friend of a friend". If this goes unchecked then it is - as people have already said- touting but front loaded

  6. However people try to justify using hacks or whatever you want to call it -because you can - doesnt make it right. Because others are doing it and why not- doesn't make it right. Because the system is broken to people who know what they're doing doesnt make it right. People can justify anything to themselves if it enables them to get what they want but it ultimately stinks for those who havent got these advantages.

Yes the people who are trying just in twos or solo would probably still miss out but a level playing field to start with at least would be fair.

  7. Global emissions from china would come down drastically if people didnt buy plastic stuff or disposable fashion made in china and shipped here.  Also if every country barring china, india (and lets face it america) managed to get to net zero then that would be an approx 36percent reduction

  8. Saw father john misty do his 2nd album in full week before it was released. It was just that. Can say i was there but definitely not a best gig ever as loads of new stuff has you listening hard, which i guess is the point really.

The fact blur are streaming it live suggests its more of a live ad for the new album rather than a full on gig

  9. It is some kind of weird hysteria.

Look at how tickets for wilko johnson were going for a couple of hundred quid when people thought he was dying. Tour after that didn't sell out at £30. Frankie boyle when he was The one to watch was ridiculous. Now hes still frankie boyle but go and see him wherever you want. Jake bugg etc etc.  Bloody bay city rollers. Its fomo entwined with some weird human thing. And marketing works. Even if we think we are immune from this side of it there will be something we fall for where others wouldn't.

I’ll be passing some shopping centres around 9am Wednesday morning on route to the site.  Is it possible to buy alcohol at this time of the morning?  Don’t want to be left thirsty.

Supermarkets. Yes you will be fine

  11. So going vegetarian only. What would happen to half the food stalls? There would be no demand for 2 of everything (or whatever). Would this stretch to alcohol? (Admittedly most of it is anyway). Went to hyde park years ago when it was the who etc and there were no alcohol sales. It was not what i would choose. Choice and all that. And if most people only ate vegetarian then the market would right itself rather than being imposed.

Also other drugs that arent alcohol also have an environmental  and human cost.
