I can no longer get the links to work - not sure if my IP is now blocked or something? It just takes me to the holding page.

Mine stopped working dead on 1pm and I had to use another that the TM twitter account sent me

Tried all different combinations of browser/device/connection (vpn, internet, mobile date) and remoting into my work pc, still getting stuck on that screen...

Ditto, called someone else to get them to try and same problem.

The first generic thing to try any time you get stuck like that is a different browser, and if that doesn't make a difference then a private window.

Suspect that one of those will solve it - if they've done something weird on their web site or used cookies badly then it's quite possible it trips some people up.

Used different devices & different browsers, no dice. It's now re-loaded the page, showed me behind 7 people in the queue, then done the same loading wheel. Got to love TM

Had some time to digest this. Went to go see parasite (which was great by the way) and think about this booking.

To many people who went to reading nearly ten years ago now this is one of the best bookings Reading has made in a long time. Rage to me are a quintessential reading band. They are such a rarity that it seems crazy Reading have managed to book them again.

I think the clash of new school and old school is really interesting too. It goes to show how much the festival has changed that a band like rage against the machine gets lashed on Twitter. However, you can’t blame them. Rage have been gone for a decade now and the kids of today won’t know much about them. That doesn’t mean that they won’t occasionally give them a shot or enjoy them on the day. Overall it doesn’t matter as Rage will sell their day out and if it means that the rage crowd is different to the rest of the weekend so be it.

For once I am actually rather concerned that getting R&L tickets might be a little bit difficult. Stormzy, Liam Gallagher and Rage are three pretty big acts with loyal followings. I don’t think Reading has sold out instantly in nearly 12 years now. Funnily enough the last time rage played (I think) was an instant sell out.

It really feels like Reading in the past couple of hours have come back from the dead and stated that when the stars align, they are still a major competitor in the market. I’ve missed the days where there was more of a level playing field in the festival market and it wasn’t just Glastonbury dominating over everyone.

    2020 is starting off good.

Was 2010 not an instant sell out? Thought I remembered people queuing online for hours after the lineup feat blink reunion was dropped (though I suppose may not have ended up with an actual sellout).

I personally think they're a far superior band now, I loved amo, I guess it's just personal preference though. I guess they could have co-headlined with someone if Festival Republic were genuinely worried about sales (Biffy Clyro springs to mind). They just seemed destined to do it having worked their way up the lineup over the years, and I personally think they would have smashed it. Would have been nice to see a new headliner, but I'm willing to sacrifice them to get Rage, much as I love Bring Me.

Yeah to be fair I meant stronger band in terms of fervent fanbase, obviously your opinion of their songwriting + releases is entirely subjective so in no way dismissing that. I'm in total agreement that bands like BMTH should be given more of a chance at fests like this, but personally think they were unfortunately passed over a number of years ago when they would have had their best shot. (I'm not really a fan but think Sempiternal was excellent).

They just don't have the draw they maybe once did + the APE show last year really showed that up despite an, in many ways, reasonably stacked lineup.

Went to have dinner, game and watch some Twitch for a while, and coming back onto this forum, it still doesn't quite seem real. Rage Against The Machine man, unbelievable.

In all seriousness, I'm shocked Bring Me The Horizon aren't there, I'm believing that fully. They've done very few shows in the UK for the amo era, and this felt like it could have been a real curtain closer. Gotta feel for them a bit, if Rage hadn't have reunited, you feel it absolutely would have been them headlining.

Not headlined when they were a far stronger band + failed to even slightly sell out Victoria Park last year (tickets being literally given away in their hundreds) for all points east so would be a pretty poor headliner

Must be June 20th someone just figuring out this alphabet slightly off, fits with rumours and no way is it gonna be a Wednesday.

My last A Level is June 12th so it better not be!

Seems to reference the solstice a bit with the symbols? Which is June 20th so fits better.

  8. I get that it sucks for everyone who didn't get to the booking page (myself included) but trying to say the system doesn't work is obviously wrong - they managed to sell out tens of thousands of tickets in 30-35 minutes. Is not a nice experience but the See website functions as intended, the reason you didn't get in is because they were at capacity.

    Back again in April!

Half sold according to twitter. Still all to play for people.

Must be struggling quite a bit if it is actually only half gone by now? Though I know the second half go a lot faster than the first.

Very jealous of anyone feeling that relief right now!

What do you do when you get the white screen - refresh or let it load?

Most people refresh, as long as you don't overdo it (no more than 60x per minute and don't accidentally refresh past the booking page!)

  11. Stayed away from this thread while I was sad and dejected about definitely not getting into the festival-just read through the last few pages and can't believe it! Massive congrats to @Lucy92 for getting the tickets (and after all that R1 suffering). Gutted for you @cb4747 for getting through on the phone but not high enough in the caller queue :(

Hope everyone who's still left without (fewer than at the start!) has adequate plans for next weekend, be that living through BBC coverage or distracting yourselves completely. May the fibre broadband gods/seetickets web manager smile upon us come October so that we don't have to repeat all of this. Very glad to know that if we do end up in the same position again that there's this forum to turn to!

Radio 1 is on Saturday morning and Radio 2 is being won tonight.

But I think that'll be it for competition due to getting prizes out to winners in time .... But you never know ;)

Ah well best of luck to everyone for those! Chloe giving away the second ticket to the runner up sounds like a lovely moment. Can you imagine if the BBC showed 700 bands across a weekend?

  13. I've been at Download over the weekend and spent the past few days variously cleaning mud off my worldly possessions + packing up my student house. So basically missed all the radio ones!
I did hear about one of the competitions on R2 as I was driving yesterday but knew I wouldn't go anywhere near it as I'm far too cowardly to do an on-air quiz style thing.

If there are some more spots left in the competition, I wish you all luck!
