  1. Browsing the official Glasto website and it mentions that campervans/caravans can only enter by the blue route, the A37,we usually come in through Street from the M5 on the A361,it looks well out of the way for us coming from the north of England, are they strict on this or could we come our usual way and still get in the caravan fields ok?

  2. I agree about the JP tent, I have seen very few unforgettable performances in there. One of the best I have ever seen was Delays in 2004. They were ace! I thought they were gonna be huge
  3. Going on the campervans for the first time this year,in the past when camping we've been up,packed and setting off for our car at 6am to beat the queues, what's it like getting off the campervan fields? Is it another early up and off or is it relatively easy to get off mid morning?Anyone recommend the ideal time to get off, don't wanna be sat there for 5 hours queuing to get off.

    Thanks.

  4. What happens if you turn up at 3am?Will there be stewards there? Will they show you to you to a pitch? When you're camping it's everyone to themselves, obviously the campervan/caravan sites can't possibly be that adhoc, can they?Is your 20' (think that's the size)square pitch laid out for you or do the stewards guestimate the pitch size and stick you on it? So many questions!!!!

  5. This is the first time i've taken the van to Glasto, looked through the forums and couldn't glean much info, can anyone give any info/hints/tips?

Is the site flat, hilly,is it prone to getting as hellishly muddy as the tent fields?

Rumour had it that security searched vans for bottles, true or bo&&ox?

Getting there wednesday about 10pm,will vans queue to get on?

Is it advisable(as we've done when camping)to be up and off at 6am on monday to avoid queues?

All this sort of info would be much appreciated.

    Cheers.

  6. Also Feb1st is put up or shut up time, there will be plenty of people who decide not to pay in full this Sunday for whatever reason so more tickets should find there way into the system.

  7. Hi All,

I went online to pay the balances for 4 tickets and a campervan ticket = £589.50, I put all the information including my card details and pressed the enter button, I got an error message to say there had been a problem and to start again. Remembering the duplicate payments previously reported I decided to check my with my bank and guess what the cash is showing OUT at my bank as being paid!!!

Good job I decided to check and did not try again otherwise my family would not be eating this week!!

I called SEE and they advised they could not see the cash but it would go to a Glastonbury account and go to them after, they advised me I should get confirmation in about 10 days, panic I told them that the balance had to be paid by the 1st feb otherwise it would be cancelled???!!!!

Am really nervous, what can I do?????

    o :lol::D:)B):D:D:O:)

  8. The answer to the first two is "depends which particular campervan field you're in" (sorry!). I've never been in a field with a slope myself, but you see you some vans on The Hill Of Death (which I'm not even sure is an official camping field) precariously levelled against all odds. I've never had to use the levelling blocks myself anyway.

I've never been more than five minutes walk from PGC either, despite never being in the closest fields. You could end up further away, but not significantly so. In my experience the distance to your campervan from PGC (Hill Of Death notwithstanding!) is less than the distance to PGC from wherever you decide to call it a night.

There are food outlets in the campervan fields but they're largely of the burger van / bacon roll variety (I guess because most folk cater for themselves, because they can), don't expect the riches and variety you get inside the fence.

  9. Do the caravan/campervan tickets ever sell out or do they just open another field,i'm booking a caravan ticket on pay day (21st Jan)and wondered if i'd be better off hitting my savings and buying my tickets early or should I stop fretting and buy on the 21st as first planned?

    Cheers.
