  1. Mine was fine last year but I think I looked over 18 anyway as I was 20

Not necessarily, most of the bars were doing challenge 21, so you needed to look 21 or have ID to prove you were 18+

I was 24 last year (arguably look older) and was asked for ID in addition to the band last year, I didn't mind though :)

  2. That sucks!!!! I hope you get them back :( I've heard in the past that people have been able to pick replacement tickets up actually near the gates.... but fail to remember the situation!!

If you're totally screwed, two of our friends have dropped out due to breaking up (also sucks) so there could be two tickets there, Girl and a guy, if that's any help? Although I can't promise how effective this is, I've seen people rejected quite a lot at gates with tickets that don't look like them :(

Hope you find your tickets!! Have you tried tweeting Seetickets? Twitter usually gets things resolved faster!

  3. Blur's calendar is free as a bird after their Hyde Park gig at the weekend. My thoughts are that if they do replace Foos at glasto, it wouldn't be announced until after then, as ticket sales for the gig are not as good as the organisers expected? It would be awesome if they played though!

  4. I've learned just to take a very relaxed approach on crowd behaviour. Yes it's annoying that people push their way through, urinate right behind you, block views and film on their phone. All of that's going to happen like it or not, so better just to accept it for what it is and focus on why you're there. It's never so crowded you can't shift position a bit to move away from those people.

The only time I'd really draw the line is if anyone around me chucks a bottle or anything. That's really not on at all and they'd be told in no uncertain terms. Also, anything that's deliberately done with malicious intent to spoil somebody else's time. I've never seen that happen at Glastonbury but I've seen it elsewhere and it's really scummy behaviour that should be challenged.

THIS!!  Also... there's a lot of people saying piss throwing 'simply does not happen at glasto'. It does. Absolute victim of piss here. Only once, but it definitely was enough and it does happen!  :girlcray:

  5. ...p.s. if you need a mirror, take a rectangle one, I've taken one like this for years: M929_Purple.jpg You can sit and put your knees up with the mirror between your knees to put them in :bye: p.s. sorry if that image is massive, I couldn't resize!!

  6. I tried glasto without lenses/glasses and couldn't see squat! Disposable lenses all the way... always put them in with clean hands. Although admittedly when I took them out it was usually on a drunked 5-6am stumble back to the tent, with no doubt filthy hands - eyes were fine though!

  7. Following the 'official' resale, can we expect another smaller-scale one? And if so, when? I know they sometimes have a tiny final final resale that isn't advertised and I need to try for a couple of friends!!

P.S. My apologies if this has been discussed, the search function didn't return anything and I'm SURE this must've been discussed somewhere, but had no joy finding it :punish:

  8. I'm not sure what you're putting in there, but I can tell you what I put in there and the deal:

    1. Beer. We camp at Hitchin Hill and I find that leaving some cans in the lockup at the bottom of the hill on the way in saves pain from the uphill trek! They also seem to keep cooler in there than they would in my tent.

    2. Money. Pop money in, take out daily funds on the way down aforementioned hill to start the day. They give you an envelope to sign and don't care how much is in - you put it in the envelope, seal and sign across the closure (???) ..they cover your signature in sellotape, done!

The process takes about 2-3 minutes and the people are always really friendly! I can't remember if I needed to show ID or not so maybe think about bringing this (maybe someone else can shine some light on this?)

  9. 2 litres of Jack Daniels, maybe a case of fruity cider for breakfast.... no more though, extra weight for warm cans just doesn't seem worthwhile! I'll buy beer there!

  10. To bring this thread back to life.....If I get the 3pm train from Paddington on the Wednesday - arriving at Castle Cary about 4.40pm - from your experience, how long would you expect the wait to be (ball park) for the shuttle... And is there any better/ faster ways of getting to the fest from CC?

Travelling solo and meeting friends there, so a rough idea would really help! :)

  11. I wouldn't risk it to be honest.. Someone I know tried it a couple of years back to be turned away and abandoned by his mates at the gates.... tried at another gate and got rejected and the ticket took off him. Stranded 500+ miles away from home with no lift. Not worth it in my opinion!

  12. Le Grand Bouffe near the pyramid stage. Everyone raves about it but I found one sausage, average red wine gravy and i think a few cubes of potato was eyes out for nearly £10! Had way better sausage :girlumbrage:

  13. Stuff's in a pile, bag is upstairs..... just...too....much...effort. Also gotta pick up the hire car later, let's see if they give us the large car we ordered or we arrive on site in a cinquecento. THEN. WE'RE. OFF!
