It can't just be me that feels Lankum would be a crap headliner?

Is there a particular reason why people stopped thinking Yo La Tengo would be playing again?

Not just you. I don't think they would suit the Woods stage at all. Maybe we'll see a Bill Callahan type situation - listed as a headliner but play the Garden stage.

Lankum are headlining the second stage at Latitude, which given so are Future Islands likely means they're headlining if playing, and we know Simon is a big fan.

Would suit Garden Stage better I think. I see they are playing False Lankum in full in Brussels/Berlin in September, so surely will be playing.

  3. Difficult to pick headliners, as always. Big Thief would seem the obvious booking, moving up from their previous slots. Self Esteem maybe?? Would love Mitski. I think if Pavement were an option they would have done it by now. Maybe a return for Mogwai? Has been a long time and they've released several really good albums since they last played.

Would like to see Daughter return on the strength of their recent album but not sure Elena is up to touring at the moment.

Others I'd like on the line up:

Lanterns on the Lake (garden please)

    Hey Colossus

    Molly

    Nation of Language

    Sarabeth Tucek

    Humour

    Deadletter

    Blondshell

    Julia Jacklin (been a while)

    Bess Atwell

    Damefrisor

    DITZ

    Billie Marten

    DIIV

Gaz Coombes? (Not their usual booking but last album was very good indeed)

  4. A few years ago, we got to the site pretty early so we were one of the first handful of people to make our way into the large expanse of the general camping area. We all dumped our stuff on the ground in our rough usual spot and sat down and cracked open some beers before we faced the task of putting the tents up.

I was sat down with my arms out just behind me with my hands on the ground chatting away when, despite the acres of space around, somebody walked right past and trod on my hand!

Not sure what the weathers like where you guys live but it’s pouring in the midlands and it got me thinking… how does the site hold up in the rain?

The Sunday of 2017 was very wet - pretty solid rain all day. I don't remember there being much in the way of mud though and could still get the car out afterwards. Just be aware that there really aren't many covered areas, and few places to sit down. The tipi/folly and big top tend to get very busy when it rains and they do stop people entering when full. So, be prepared to get wet.

Oh, and if you want to use an umbrella either stand at the back out the way or put it down when the artist is on stage.

I tell you what, if people are hailing the return of the Walkmen, you’re not wrong.

Not hailing their return at all, not even a fan. Just wondering where they might play. Would be a pretty underwhelming headliner I think but wouldn't put it past EOTR putting them on the Woods, particularly on the Thursday. Garden more likely though, surely?
