Just been for a bimble around the site
It is drying up
The real problem is the car parks, I didn't make it far from the entrance at 8pm last night, a handful of cara had tried and just given up
Ground is fine in most of our campsite
As a non advocate, I'm currently calling this one for the Welly boot brigade,
Whilst most of the site is walking boots capable, peak points can be ankle high
Please do as they say,
As painful as that is, but that was some heavy rainfall,
Don't rush here, give the ground a chance
Prepare for long waits
And we are gonna have a brilliant time
Appreciate the early update. In terms of long waits, do you think this will be getting on to the car park or getting into the actual festival through the entrance? Or both? Getting the coach down, no idea if drop off point has changed but can't imagine they'll want them heading into the car park.

We're on the coach from Manchester at 09:15 tomorrow so no way for us to delay our arrival. Wondering if they will drop in the usual place at the back of the car park or somewhere else. Absolute shitter but no one can change the weather. Just hope it isn't cancelled.

Will go and no doubt have a great weekend but for me personally not a line up that excites me. Definitely won't be getting early birds until after the line up is announced next year.
I'm feeling the same way. There's acts on the line-up that I'm looking forward to but overall not the best for me personally. I'm still looking forward to the weekend though as I've always had a brilliant time in previous years. A less packed must-see list means I can have more of a wander and spend time at some of the smaller stages.
Now just hoping for 2023 weather! ☀️

Do we have any idea when the announcement will be this week? Thursday?
I wasn't overly impressed with the initial line-up but the closer it gets, the more I'm looking forward to it. Still hoping for The Cribs to pop up, wouldn't mind Fat White Family either.

Seems to be a rumour floating about the next announcement will be on Thursday? Seems a bit early.
Saw something on one of the Bearded Theory Facebook pages about this, couldn't quite work out if they had info or were taking the piss.
-
The Cribs have been announced for Live at Leeds on 25th May, would absolutely love to see them on the Bearded line up somewhere. Keeping my fingers crossed.

It's horses for courses, last year for me was a bit meh but this year there's loads of my all time favourites on there. Jane's Addiction, Dinosaur Jr, Orbital, The Orb, 808 State and System 7 and it's not even the full line up yet!
Oh yeah, I totally agree. There's a good few on there who I am looking forward to seeing and hopefully a few more to come. Last year was more or less perfect for me so it was always unlikely to beat that!
-
Last year's line up was brilliant for me personally, loads of acts I wanted to see, so I am feeling a bit underwhelmed this time around. That said I am still thoroughly looking forward to the festival and excited to see who else will be added.

Hoping we do get an announcement before the end of the month, been looking forward to it.
1. The Libertines
2. IDLES
3. Sea Power
4. Fat White Family
5. Arcade Fire (never going to happen I know)

why did they announce another gig at YES the night after? The NCH gig isnt even sold out...silly
I think the YES gig is part of the venue's 5th birthday thing.
Managed to sell both our tickets on Twickets thankfully which was surprising considering it's not sold out.

Got x2 tickets for Squid at New Century Hall (Manchester) on Wednesday 18th October. Bug Club play on the same night and doing that instead. £35 for both. Can send straight away by email.

An incredible 4 days. Great weather, people and bands. Thought the sound was really good on all the stages and really liked the addition of The Meadow.
Acts of the weekend for me were Gogol, Interpol, Witch Fever, Oh My God! It's The Church, Abdoujaparov and Public Service Broadcasting. Saw some good comedians in Knockerdown too.
Hope everyone else had a brilliant time. Can't wait for next year already.

Been off work today to get everything sorted. Just need to put everything in my bag then I'm good to go. Me and my boyfriend are travelling by coach, did the same in 2019 but I have no recollection of where it dropped us. Think it might have been the far end of the field. Does anyone know?
Others in our group are going in car/campervan so they have helped with some of our stuff thankfully.
-
Didn't try for early bird tickets as wanted to wait for the line-up this time around. Have to say I think it's a cracker, a real good mix of artists. Tickets have now been purchased.

Very shocked about this, completely missed the news story over the weekend and only read the article this morning. Got tickets for Manchester on Saturday but I just don't see how the tour can go ahead. How can the band walk out on stage and act like everything is normal? I'm gutted because Arcade Fire are my favourite band and I've always thought Win seemed like a decent bloke, obviously not the case though. I've been looking forward to this gig for months but it doesn't feel right for it to happen now.

Someone leaving Idles on the Other singing ‘Dannnyy DeVitoo’
Similar but different. In some shade near the The Park on Wednesday, me and my boyfriend just having a chill. Heard a lad talking to his mate about watching the IDLES 2019 set on tele and that he especially loved that 'Johnny Pedelko' song.

147,013 steps and 66 miles from Wednesday to Sunday. Legs feeling heavy today.

Sorry if it's already been mentioned but internet connection is shite. Who is the JP TBA at 21:00?

Excitement is seriously growing now, I still can't believe we managed to get tickets in the resale again. Very little work getting done at present, constantly coming back to the forum. Finish work on Tuesday, takeaway for tea then an early night in preparation for our 04:30 coach. 0% packing done as it stands but the plan is to box that off on Sunday. Can't wait to walk through the gates on Wednesday, get set up and have mooch (in the sun hopefully!). Hope everyone has an amazing festival.

Fat White Family were sensational in Huddersfield tonight. The best I have seen them. Gutted they aren't on the line up this year.

Just got back from beaded theory, load of issues with the wifi including it crashing for several hours on Saturday leading to having to withdraw cash.
We haven't had any trouble with card payments on site, was it a particular area? Average pint price has been £5.50 for me this weekend (mainly Vocation and Thornbridge) so expecting £6/£6.50 at Glastonbury.

On the hill in 2017, there was a good few of us that year. Absolutely love this picture, we all look so happy.
2019 only @elgatonegrofabricwardrobe and I managed to get tickets. Not sure why I thought that wig was a good idea.
Excitement levels for this year are getting ridiculous now.

I've just got 3 standing via the venue presale:
Go to
Find the event and then get tickets, it brings up seated but change it to standing and you should have a chance.
Thanks for this. Got 4 in the pre-sale yesterday but another mate also wanted one and was having to wait until Friday. All of us are sorted now.

Bearded Theory 2024
in other UK festivals
Posted · Edited by AmyShambles
Another fantastic Bearded, had a blast. The mud was rubbish but think we got relatively lucky with the weather overall.
I was disappointed when the line up was announced but saw some top class stuff across the weekend. Meryl Streek, Sprints, Dinosaur Jr, Amyl and The Sniffers and BC Camplight the standouts. Silent Disco was great on Saturday night too.
It's a cracking festival and will definitely be booking again for 2025. Fingers crossed for 2023 weather though!
