44?? bloody 'ell time flew in!!
-
Good idea... will look into that

I gave my 7m a test run in the garden today and it looked good with 2 flags on it. May get another ground spike for it though, had 2 supporting it but I think a third would be just perfect. Now just need to stop talking about my flag design and start working on it!

The cams don't update at the same time - I've noticed this the other evening and checked the times and the pyramid was about half hour earlier than the other 2, when the sun is going down this makes a lot of difference.
-
Managed to get one of the £13 B&Q trucks yesterday.. looks the business
-
Is everyones middle cam (pyramid one) looking a bit darker this morning compared to the other 2?

The finished article

Good job!
I notice Neil hasn't been mentioned in this thread. Normally he has to give the OK to use the eFest logo.....

Got fabric paint today, didn't take long to paint either

The fence is as above around the entrance areas but is the lower (but still very big) height around the rest of the site. They have these big doors at the entrances which they can shut barricade-style if they think they're about to get rushed by a couple of hundred ticket-dodgers.
Then of course there's the second fence inside the outer one which is actually the original fence from pre-2002. I reckon for that extra security they should have tigers loose in this area between the fences...
-
That one must be the suber-uber fence
-
Cool, but that includes the thin angled plates on top that slants at an angle though.
That fence in that pic looks about 20ft
Still a f**king huge fence!
-
This is the superfence!
or is it? coz this looks absolutely HUGE!
-
Hadnt thought of that.. might need to tape the sections together then
-
This is one I've been pondering on. My current plan centres on getting a lone piece of string/rope, pegging it down one side, then wrapping round the pole before pegging it down on the other side. Repeat. That would allow it to swing round but also give it a bit of stability?
Yet to be tested though, so I would be keen to hear from those who know more!
EDIT: The ground spikes are good - I've got three for my five-metre pole - and they hold it pretty well. I still think I'll have a guy rope of two though!
-
Ok so how effective is a ground spike?
People have mentioned using guy ropes to stable the pole, how do you attach them to the pole?
-
Traced round the image that was posted earlier with a pencil... looks better than the pic, was quite hard to get a decent pic
Shall source some paints and start painting at the weekend
