As an extention of International Women's Day, this event is a celebration of females working within the music industry - covering various channels from stage to A&R and management.
Friday night is A&R Launch Nite, open from 6pm until 9pm featuring Al Start, Lava Flo, Juliette Leon and Charlie Mackenzie. Saturday plays host to a variety of artistes at either one of two venues. From 1pm until around 10pm at South Birmingham College and from 1pm until 7pm at the Irish Club plus an After Show Party later. Artists include: Moorfield Dance; Evelyn Glennie; Laura Ige; Hina & Co Bollywood; Jenny Beck and Ruby Turner.
The festival, which hopes to become a regular event, aims to fuse both professional and educational channels, highlighting the various positions within the music industry, and addressing both workshop and health care issues as well as music.
