This year the Welsh Samba Econtro festival has moved to Swansea. It is now being hosted by Samba Tawe.
The festival promises a weekend of outdoor performances, percussion and dance workshops, an indoor showcase and social events.
The Econtro Welcome Party takes place on Friday 1st of September at Monkey Bar nightclub in Castle Street. The nightclub is set for an evening of global vibes, live percussion and dance.
Brangwyn Hall hosts the Samba Showcase on the Saturday night (8.00pm to 2.00 am). The event includes performances from Swansea's Samba Tawe, Carnival Collective from Brighton, Bloco Vomit, a cross-dressing punk samba band from Edinburgh and The London School of Samba, the UKs longest-established samba outfit.
On Sunday there will be a variety of performances from visiting Samba bands, starting from 2.00pm. The festival will close with a grand finale performance held in the city centre.
There will be more information here when available.
