Welsh Samba Encontro

A collaboration between Samba Galêz, the Welsh College of Music and Drama and leading jazz musicians from the South Wales and Bristol areas. The weekend includes an evening of performances and a samba showcase as well as the weekend highlight with individual Samba bands from all parts of Wales and England staging a series of colourful parades around Cardiff Bay before linking up for a final open-air free concert.

The first Welsh Encontro was held in June 2004, and the third was in 2006, there hasn't been one since then.
