Stroud festival 2005

With new organisers and now in it's tenth year, the Stroud festival will be showcasing a wealth of local talent. This year all the stuff in the town centre is FREE (because the bands are playing for free). There's music on Friday evening, all day on Saturday and from 1pm to around 7pm on Sunday. There are three stages: at the Cornhill, King Street and Nelson Street, covering a wide range of genres including rock, rap, jazz, blues, folk, roots, r'n'b, underground and more.

As well as music and arts there will be stalls exhibiting an array of local crafts and various events in the pubs around town (including a few beer festivals), plus larger events in the town hall. There are still some paying gigs being held at the Stroud Sub-Rooms. Artists include Hazel O'Connor and the Subterraneans, Matthew Fort and Burning Bush.

Camping
Camping is available from 6pm Thursday through till Sunday evening. The campsite is located behind the Leisure Centre at Stratford Park, Stratford Road. Caravans and tents are allowed onto the site.
Wheelchair Access
Most venues can accommodate wheelchairs or other mobility restricted persons. At venues without wheelchair access, stewards will be happy to assist in any way they can. Disabled toilets are in the Subscription Room, Cornhill Market, Town Council offices, campsite and public toilets at the rear of the Subscription rooms (Radar key will be needed).
