Stonehaven Folk Festival 2015


The 27th Stonehaven Folk Festival, takes place over four days from Thursday 9th until Sunday 12th July 2014, and features evening concerts at the Town Hall plus fringe events at various venues around the town.

Line-up

The Old Blind Dogs, Le Vent Du Nord, Treacherous Orchestra, Poozies, Salthouse, Ross Ainslie and Jarleth Henderson, The Young’Uns, Kate Lissaeur, Paul Anderson, Shona Donaldson, North East Folk Collective, Ross and Cameron, and Artie Trezise. Plus Tradition Bearers : Norman Kennedy, Chris Hendry, Johnny Handle, and Patricia Flynn.

An adult weekend ticket (18 yrs and over) is priced at £50 concessions £40, and kids £25. A Friday combined concert and Ceilidh ticket is priced at £16. The Saturday and Sunday concert tickets are priced at £20, the Tradition Bearers concert is priced at £8. Although it's worth noting that not all concerts are covered by the weekend passes. Concessions are available and kids under 14 years are admitted half price.

Other events

As well as the main concerts there is also a welcoming session in the Upper Town Hall on Thursday. On Saturday and Sunday there will be a concert in the marquee situated in the Market Square featuring many well known and local artists.

Other events over the weekend include the Aqua Ceilidh, World Paper and Comb Championships, Tradition Bearers Concert, workshops, Slow Sessions for the learner and more all around the Town.

Camping

There is a basic festival campsite located at Mineralwell Park, Stonehaven. A small cafe is run for the festival adjacent to the site.

Location

Stonehaven is an attractive coastal town in the North East of Scotland, about 15 miles south of Aberdeen. Easily accessible from north and south by road and rail, Stonehaven is on the main rail route to Aberdeen. It is reached from the south by the A90 and the A94 and from the north by the A90.
