Stonehaven Folk Festival 2012


The 24th Stonehaven Folk Festival, takes place over four days from Thursday 5th until Sunday 8th July 2012, and features evening concerts at the Town Hall plus fringe events at various venues around the town.

Line-up

Brian McNeil, Sinsheen, Barbara Dymock Band, Blyde Lassies, Kydd/Wilkins, Dans McCabre, Re-Session, Frank Robb, Arthur Johnstone, Jock Duncan, Sarah Jane Gibbon, Len Graham, Anne Neilson, Danny Cooper, Burns Quoir, and NE Folk Collective.

Tickets

An adult weekend ticket (18 yrs and over) is priced at £48, concessions £42, and kids £20. A Friday combined concert and Ceilidh ticket is priced at £14. A Saturday concert ticket is priced at £18, the tradition bearers concert is priced at £8, and a Sunday concert ticket is priced at £18. Although it's worth noting that not all concerts are covered by the weekend passes. Concessions are available and kids under 14 years are admitted half price.

Other events

As well as the main concerts there are also workshops, Ceilidh, survivors session, free afternoon concerts, Family show, World paper and Comb Championships, Tradition Bearers Concert, Acoustic Youth Stage and more all around the Town.

Camping

There is a basic festival campsite located at Mineralwell Park, Stonehaven.

Location

Stonehaven is an attractive coastal town in the North East of Scotland, about 15 miles south of Aberdeen. Easily accessible from north and south by road and rail, Stonehaven is on the main rail route to Aberdeen. It is reached from the south by the A90 and the A94 and from the north by the A90.
