Lift Global Music Festival 2003


A festival clebrating a wide variety of music from artists around the world held at various venues around the town.

On Friday starting at 8pm you can see Nusantara, a twenty-piece Malaysian performing arts ensemble at the Town Hall.
At the Globe, Glossop's own Urban Poison Collective will be unleashing an evening of hip hop, drum and bass, dub, reggae, soul, funk, break beats and ambient grooves. Rachel and Oova, from the Bluefoot Project will be providing vocal support and top Manchester DJ's Baobinga and Ed B will be taking a trip into drum and bass.
Doors open 8.30 till late. No admission after 10.45pm.

On Saturday from 1.30pm onwards, the Town Hall will be showcasing young bands and holding DJ workshops.
In the evening, Nick Harper will be performing at the Globe supported by Poyzer and Fluff.

At Glossop Town Hall starting at 8.30pm there'll be soulful performances from The Bluefoot Project, The Naturalites and Zimbabwean artists, the Hohodza Band.

On Sunday, Australian jazz band, The Funky Do Da’s, will be performing at the Globe from 2pm. In the evening, from 8.30pm onwards, there'll be psychedelic sounds from Moqsha, Fimka and the Unknown.
