Lammas Festival 2016


With folk music, morris dancing, traditional giants, carnival and a Grand Parade plus live bands every afternoon, and evening plus a Ritual celebration of Lammas expected at around 5.30pm, on the beach on Saturday.

Eastbourne's annual free festival of music dance and entertainment is back for a 16th year on the Western Lawns on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st July 2016.

Line-up

There are no acts confirmed yet but on Saturday expect the Ritual celebration of Lammas

The ceremony starts with the dance 'John Barleycorn' performed by Hunters Moon Morris, symbolising the cutting of the corn and showing the cycle of life, death and rebirth.

All day events include stalls, crafts, kids fun, storytelling, tarot, birds of prey, pole lathe demonstration, Morris Dancing and more.

On site

There will also be a beer tent and craft stalls open all day on the Wish Tower Slopes plus storytelling, puppetry and children's activities. 

Charity

The festival will be making a collection in aid of the R.N.L.I.
