Lammas Festival 2010

Eastbourne's annual free festival of music dance and entertainment is back for its 10th Anniversary on the Western Lawns on 31st July - 1st August 2010. With folk music, morris dancing, traditional giants, carnival and a Grand Parade plus live bands every afternoon, and evening plus a Ritual celebration of Lammas expected at around 5.30pm, on the beach on Saturday.

Line-up

Performers confirmed include Touchstone, Ragati String Band, 5th Quarter, The Slight Aches, Matt Cooper, Carol, Cartouche, Black Strap Mollasses, Terry Lees, Blueshift Jazz Band, Open air celidh with music from Rattlebone.

Morris Sides performing over the weekend include Hunters Moon Morris , who will be running a Border Morris workshop at 2.00 Sunday afternoon, Gong Scourers, Loose Women, Boughton Monchelsea, and Bacchus.

Plus Pentacle Drummers and The Sea Gypsies Belly Dancers

There will also be a beer tent and craft stalls open all day on the Wish Tower Slopes plus storytelling, puppetry and children's activities. An evening concert is expected to take place at 7.30pm in the Winter Garden.

Charity

The festival will be making a collection in aid of the R.N.L.I. Last year they raised £1,327.81.
