Fishstock Brixham 2008


Fishstock Brixham is a festival that combines music and seafood. The one-day-event held on Saturday September 13th 2008 from 10am to 10pm hopes to raise much-needed funds for the Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen.

The event will have two stages with the music line-up for the main stage featuring Mad Dog Mcrea, with support from Evi Vine, Livin in a Valvestate, Morph, Peachy Farmer, Memo, and No Remote.

For the Acoustic Tent hosts Evi Vine with support from Margaret Duffy, Johnny Dean as Flanders & Swann, Steve Davis (local guitarist), Paddy's Whiskers (Irish and jigs), Beats of Polynesia (music and dancers), and others to be confirmed.

Adult all event tickets are priced at £7, daytime tickets are priced at £5, and evening only £5. Children under 14 accompanied are free. There are also couple and family options available at the gate.

The event is timed to coincide with 'National Seafood Fortnight'. There will be recipes of local seafood cooked by expert and celebrity chefs whilst local musicians and artists provide the entertainment. Seafood cookery demonstrations by Celebrity Chefs including Mark Hix, Mitch Tonks and London Chefs, Fergus Henderson and Trevor Gulliver, plus well known chefs from the local area.

There will also be local food and drink producers, Bays Brewery are providing a beer and wine tent, display stands, information about the marine environment, fishing activity and maritime safety etc. Artists Nutty Noah, John Christian and Maya Plass will display and demonstrate.

There will be modern and heritage fishing boats, RN P2000 Patrol vessel and Torbay Lifeboat alongside for the public to view and tour, subject, of course, to tides and operational circumstances.
