A mid-winter festival presenting both national and local artists, many of whom perform, and are available to meet at one or many of the events taking place over the weekend.

The 16th Cheltenham Folk Festival takes place from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th February 2012.

Line-up

Headliners Dervish, Albion Band, and Brass Monkey. Also appearing over the weekend will be Blair Dunlop, Brian Peters and Jeff Davis, Breabach, Bryony Griffith and Will Hampson, Crucible Trio, Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman, Katriona Gilmore and Jamie Roberts, Lady Maisery, Maggie Boyle, Melrose Quartet, Mick Ryan and Paul Downes, Polkaworks, Sciorr: Staged, Sue Brown and Lorraine Irwing, The Carnival Band, The QP, and more. Tickets

Individual concert tickets are dependent on availability although many artists appear more than once over the weekend. Camping is not included in the ticket price. An adult early bird weekend ticket is priced at £69. Children under 5 years are admitted free; 5-16 year olds tickets are priced at £34.50. Concessions are available priced at £62.50 for students, disabled and jobseekers.

On site

Food includes vegetarian dishes, and there are real ales too. The town centre and all-day car parks are within a few minutes walk.

Cheltenham Folk Festival offers a wide range of concerts, workshops, ceilidhs, children's activities and an indoor market place with stalls selling everything from jewellery and clothing to musical instruments, and up to 15 morris dance sides that take to the streets on the Saturday and Sunday.

Accommodation

Indoor camping
is available at around £25 for the weekend or around £10 per night at St Luke's Church Hall. No campers under 16 years of age. Facilities include toilets, showers, kitchen and disabled access.
B&Bs
- there are plenty of these within walking distance of the Town Hall.
