The Bury St Edmunds Festival celebrates its 27th year from Thursday 17th to Sunday 27th May 2012 and has grown to become one of East Anglia's best-loved arts events with a varied mix of contemporary and classical music, outdoor concerts, jazz, dance, theatre, film, poetry, talks, walks, workshops, street theatre and much more.

Line-up

Thursday 17 May: Shakespeare in Love, and Ballaké Sissoko and Vincent Segal.

Friday 18 May: Royal Academy Harp Ensemble, Walk the Line, Around the World with 1,000 Voices, Bury Songwriting Competition Final, Cloudstreet, Jazz at the Movies.
Saturday 19 May: Greene King Real Beer and Food Festival, Street Theatre, Shakespeare in the Streets, Organ Recital: Colin Walsh, Girl with a Pearl Earring, Grimethorpe Colliery Band, Imogen Cooper, The music of Hoagy Carmichael.
Sunday 20 May: St Edmunds Real Beer and Food Festival, Nettle Appreciation Day, Nursery Rhyme Walk, International Baroque Players, Shakespeare in the Streets, The Aviator, Cathedral Choir, In Conversation with Cheryl Frances Hoad, Britten Sinfonia.
Monday 21 May: Bones Apart, Andi Hopgood, Prick up Your Ears, Trio Libero, The Sixteen.
Tuesday 22 May: Katona Twins, I'm Not There, Viktoria Mullova – Peasant Girl, Late Night in the Quire.
Wednesday 23 May: Cellophony, Lust for Life, Suffolk Philharmonic Orchestra, John Williams & Richard Harvey.
Thursday 24 May: Piano 4 Hands, Jasper Smith Duo, Consortium 5, Ed Wood, The Imagined Village, Songs of Bob Dylan with Barb Jungr, Late Night in the Quire.
Friday 25 May: Dixie Ticklers, Capote, Sinfonia Viva, Abba and Robbie Williams Tribute Night, Nigel Price Organ Trio.
Saturday 26 May: Honeymead Ensemble, Hansel & Gretel, African Sanctus, Shadowlands, Happy & Glorious, Boo Hewerdine, Roberto Fonseca.
Sunday 27 May: Royal Links Walk, West Suffolk Youth Jazz Orchestra, Not So Silent Movies, St Mary's Choir, Amadeus: Directors Cut, Clare Teal and the BBC Big Band, Mark Watson Tim Minchin.
