Bath Fringe Festival 2008


A 17-day arts festival across the city of Bath featuring live performances from both local, national and world musicians as well as dance, theatre, art exhibitions, carnival and children's events with many free gigs held from Friday 23rd May until Sunday 8th June.

Acts confirmed so far include Captain Black, Danny and the Champions of the World, and Urusen at the opening night outside the Porter Cellar Bar.

Spiegel Palace, on Bath's recreation ground, is hosting many of the free events and kid's stuff all day for 9 days, with concerts in the evening, all within the mirror-bedecked art nouveau splendour of one of the last remaining Spiegeltents, travelling venues since the 1920s. Acts include Bath Fringe Opening Night Party with Moonshot, and DJ Derek; The Hot Potato Syncopators, The Mandibles; Latin Dub Sound System; The Gala Band, Ruth Royall, Jane Taylor, Patrick Street; The Gaulois Brothers; Barry Cryer & Ronnie Golden; The Tim Buckley Project; Noel Britten with Andy Parsons and Andy Robinson; Skerryvore; Doreen Thobekile; Phantom Limb; Bon Bon's Big Night; Claudia Aurora; Sweet Billy Pilgrim, Bela Emerson, Gadarene; Polly & the Billets-Doux, The Rawness; Beth Rowley; James Fagan & Nancy Kerr, and Tragic Roundabout.

The full festival programme is now available and includes everything from visual art exhibitions to installations, classical theatre and street performance workshops, morris dancing to hip-hop sessions as well as live music. Prices vary according to venue and event.
