  1. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

Thank fuck for that! I jest, of course. Glad to hear things are improving.
  2. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

Good to hear from you, Quark. Whatcha been up to?
  3. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

How much gold pressed latinum you got on you?
  4. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

The theme for Bearded is 'fairy folk and forest creatures'. I know you tend towards LEDs and EL wire in your creations, but I'm not sure they really fit with that! I've got an eye on a few things on eBay, and I'll see what else comes up. I've got to bear in mind, though, that whatever I go for, I've got to get it from Somerset to Derbyshire on public transport!

Evening all I'm officially in planning mode now. YouTubing acts that are playing Bearded Theory, planning fancy dress, looking forward to the lineup announcement for Beautiful Days, and booking my Oxfam places next month. Finally starting to look ahead to the summer, rather than backwards to the winter which, frankly, has been a bit of a shitter. @Curlygirl, have you got a plan for the BT theme?

Probably wise to take a break after filling four holes, before you start any more, you're only human, after all! As for your mate joining in, I can only imagine!

    Werther's Farm.
  8. Glastonbury Spelling errors

The Pork, The Gin Pool Tent (I can think of a few efesters who might like the sound of that one) Vest Holts, Left Feeled, The A Pooh Stick Tent.

I'll be trying the Oxfam liftshare group, rather than FB, I think, as stewards need to get there a day before the public. Sure I'll sort something out
  12. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

Yay! I've requested holiday from work for it, but can't apply to Oxfam until March. I've decided to give Bestival a miss this year, and just do BT and Beautiful Days. Means I get more holiday time with the family. Look forward to seeing you in Derbyshire! Fuck knows how I'm going to get there and back, but I'll figure it out once I've got a place!

Evening all, Well, today was the day, we had the funeral for Mrs gumby's dad this afternoon. Nice and simple, and a lot of friends and family gathered to remember him. As it's Friday night, and I dare say a fair few of you will be having a tipple or two, if anyone fancies joining me in raising a glass in his honour, that would be nice. Hope you all have a good weekend. Gumby x
  15. Most 'overbooked' headliner

Marc Bolan. I mean, where the fuck is he now?

They're Taunton lads, aren't they? I had hoped to catch their set at John Peel, but sadly my litter picking shift ended giving me only about 10 minutes to get from pyramid to JP before they finished, so I opted to go back to the crew field for a shower. Hope to see them in the future, if they return. How did their set go? I've been to a few early doors sets at the JP, and they've varied massively, from a small but euphoric crowd, to a big but unimpressed one!

Hi Yog, I don't know if you remember, but quite some time ago, I mentioned having made some compilation CDs of what I call 'goosebumps' songs. Songs that just make the hairs on my arms and neck stand on end. This was one of them. It's one of a small number of tracks where I think the cover is even better than the original. I particularly like the interweaving of Van Morrison's Into the Mystic. On a very strange day, the fact you have posted it has given the song an extra poignancy. I heard this morning that Mrs gumby's dad had passed away, and have spent the day at the hospital, and then at my in-laws house, doing what I can to support her, her mum, her sisters, and the grandchildren. It's been a shit of a day, but that song has brought a tear to my eye, in a good way. Thank you, Yog, thanks very much.

I like your style! Outwardly respectable, but subversive underneath. Nice one!
  19. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

I'm getting there, thanks Lucy. I'm also back at work tomorrow, at 5 a.m. Then I've got to do parenting while Mrs gumby goes to work, so I guess I'll just have to suck it up and get on with it! Hope your first day back goes ok

  21. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

Thanks Sharon, It's well and truly gone now, but I'll try to remember that for next time
  22. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

It was actually a CD of the new Stereophonics album, along with a voucher for tickets to see them in June. She's wanted to see them for years, but never has.
  23. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

Thanks, Yog. Started last night, and I've spent nearly all of today in bed. Missed Xmas dinner, but hoping there'll be some leftovers tomorrow, and I'll be able to manage some. Dragged myself up for long enough to open some presents, and watch others open theirs, but now I'm going back to bed. Made Mrs gumby cry when she opened one of her parcels, which was touching. Hope you've all had a fun day.
