  1. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

Yeah, the Levellers started and run it. They play twice each year, opening the 'Big Top', which is the second stage, with an acoustic set on the Friday, and closing the main stage on the Sunday night.
  2. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

I think the most likely scenario is that I will do Bestival and Beautiful Days, and skip the weekend in between. I won't be taking a ticket out of the pot, though, as I'll be stewarding. It'd be grand to meet up with any other nfcers there On the subject of trees, we had probably the shittest, tiniest tree ever 5 years ago. We had a decent excuse, though, as gumby jr was born 5 days before Christmas, so we had more important things to do!
  3. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

I went for the first time this year. Loved it, despite the m*d! The main stages finished about midnight. The Bimble Inn went on a bit later, and the 'Little Big Top', (basically the dance tent), went until 2 a.m, with a silent disco after that. So, it's not exactly a 24 hr party like Glasto, but I really enjoyed the smaller scale of it. There was plenty for me to do and see, but I wasn't half as knackered as I usually am after a week in Pilton. The lineup was great, too. Your faves Paul & Jacqui, Frank Turner and the Levs headlining, Waterboys, Public Service Broadcasting, New Model Army, Sisters of Mercy, Gaz Brookfield, Cuban Brothers, Ferocious Dog, Hobo Jones, The Leylines, Dubioza Kolektiv, Talisman, and loads more. I'd definitely recommend it.

I'm pretty sure I'll be at Beautiful Days, so I'd be happy to meet you there. I'll be with Oxfam, though, so I wouldn't be able to camp with you, as much as I'd like to There is an fb group, called, ingeniously, Beautiful Days chat. Great bunch of people, they have a meet up on the Thursday night. I'll add you to the group, if you like
  5. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

I know. It's setting off my OCD a bit, if I'm honest!
  6. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

Yeah, there are a few bunched together in August that I'd be interested in. Bestival the first weekend, both Boomtown and Boardmasters the second (Boomtown probably more my style, but Boardmasters seem to get some good acts, and I love Watergate bay!), and then Beautiful Days on the third weekend! Don't think I could manage 3 festivals in 3 weeks these days! Also considering Bearded Theory in May and Nozstock in July.
  7. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

I'm considering Bestival as one I might volunteer at next year. Have you been before? I've thought about it before as a punter, but the travel over to the IoW made it a bit expensive. Now it's at Lulworth, it's much easier to get to.
  8. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

Evening all Finally starting to feel a little bit festive. I have been making cranberry and port sauce this afternoon, and the whole house has been filled with a very Christmassy aroma. Also got lamb shanks slow cooking in a red wine sauce for our dinner later, which, although not something I associate with Christmas, has a wintry, comfort food type of smell to it My listening has been quite festive(ally) , a bit of Gaz Brookfield, Nick Parker, and moving on shortly to Royal Blood, who I thought were awesome on the Pyramid in June. Hope everyone is snug and warm, and enjoying their weekend.

Can't think of many people I'd rather have tucking gumby jr into bed than you, CG, if me and Mrs gumby were unable to for a night or two. Those kids are lucky to have you in their corner
  10. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

I reckon that's the least of the world's problems, guy...
  11. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

  12. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

Can't argue with that! Happy belated birthday
  13. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

Morning all I'm also off out for a birthday do today. It's Mrs gumby's 40th, so we're off to Brizzle for a meal and comedy club evening with family and friends, while gumby jr has a sleepover at his nanny and granddad's. Have a good weekend everyone!
  14. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

It's nice to have a little poke now and again
  15. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

Evening all Apologies for my absence of late, the new job is keeping me very busy! Only a week until my first proper payday in over 5 years! Think I might treat myself! Hope everyone is doing well. Gumby x
  16. eFestival Music Awards 2017

Just realised I put Future Islands down for best Glasto performance this year, when I meant to put Flaming Lips. It's been a long week! (Future Islands were bloody good, though!)

It's a company called PetSafe, which sounds most reassuring to me. Presumably, if a small domestic animal takes it upon itself to attack your flaps, you can be confident of being protected. Not sure if they do any other body parts, though!
  19. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

Morning all! Apropos of nothing, apart from the fact it's Friday, I thought I'd share this with you. My first job this morning was to fit a new pet door, and I couldn't help sniggering a bit when I saw this in the instruction booklet!
  20. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

Thanks Lucy, it was a good day. I've now finished my first shift in store too, and think it'll be really good for me. It might take a while to get used to shop work again, compared to parenting, but I'm really looking forward to it @pauladam, hope your ankle mends soon. On the plus side, if there's any time of year when zombie shuffling is de rigeur, it's now!
  21. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

Hello! Although, in fact, I've already left! We finished a bit early, so I'm just leaving Salisbury, having changed trains there.
  22. NFR NFC - to tide you over the fallow year

Evening all Spain was lovely, warm and sunny. Bit of a shock when we got back to Gatwick! All the unpacking and washing is done, and gumby jr is back at school. I'm off to Southampton tomorrow, for a training day for my new job. Leaving the house at 5.30 in the morning, so I'm off to bed now! Hope everyone is doing well, night night!
