  1. British Summer Time 2018

Still got options (although Bruno Mars would have been a good booking for them) - Taylor Swift, Kanye, Calvin Harris, Drake, Eminem, Florence and the Machine or The Killers if they decide to go back on their all-out-pop direction. Probably more I'm forgetting.
  2. British Summer Time 2018

It's probably a one-off Puzzle anniversary show. There's a t-shirt up on their store saying something about 31st Oct so could be a small show up in Scotland on that date or something.
  3. Lineup 2018

I reckon they could sub someone like Foos who won't need much of a hand shifting tickets. Not that I expect them to turn up this year.
  4. Lineup 2018

Yeah he'd also probably go down much better than ATDI who've headlined NME and played 4th down main in the last 5 years.
  5. Lineup 2018

Yeah it'd be no weirder than FFDP the other year and is a p logical step after Korn. Maybe not quite as suitable as Korn but certainly not a million miles away.
  6. Lineup 2018

The Streets said their tour was a one-off but I guess they could have meant it's a one-off in terms of their own dates. I've currently got Jungle, All Time Low and Friendly Fires but I'm not sure at all really. Got Shikari subbing Download.
  7. Lineup 2018

You keep saying this about a DnB NME headliner but none of those acts are a big deal at the moment and genre itself isn't. It's nothing like locked in that we'll have a DnB NME headliner. If they have acts like Jamie xx, Friendly Fires, Enter Shikari and loads of other decent options then they're not gonna pass on them in order to book Rudimental who no one in the world cares about anymore. I reckz you focus too much on the genre of acts (see also: your template of a heavy rock, indie/alt rock, something else headline trio) rather than them just booking the most suitable acts they can get. I would imagine there'll be three more suitable NME headliners for them to pick from than C&S/Pendulum/Rudimental, especially the latter.
  8. Lineup 2018

Galantis are playing the Roundhouse, Victoria Warehouse and the Hydro, but looking at tickets for the Hydro show it appears to just be standing and a few of the middle sections of the bottom tier of seating.
  9. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

Surely they aren't going to announce a show at the Hydro in 2 weeks time?
  10. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

Yeah I saw that but it said "Late bar" and Google was giving me nothing for that. That's really soon tho so must be something really low key if so.
  11. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

    It isn't the same M.
  12. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

Not a clue. That'd be sick tho but I wouldn't bother going.
  13. Tour Announcements & Upcoming Gigs

What makes you say it's BST? Searched on Twitter and found one person tweeting about how Biffy and BST have given the same clue but from what I can see BST have said nothing (and they usually warn us when an announcement is incoming) and Biffy haven't given any clues.
  14. Lineup 2018

Thanks mate hope your brain is okay.
  15. Lineup 2018

No chance Disclosure are headlining again after 2 years away.
  16. Lineup 2018

Eh that's not what the rule means. Like there was a meme that there was a 5 year rule for Metallica cos they played 2003 and 2008, and he's saying there's a 4 year rule now for Blink cos they played in 2010 and 2014. When the Metallica 5 year rule was a thing, there had been acts play with a 3 year gap like Foos in 2002 and 2005.
  17. Lineup 2018

Well that makes no sense it was 4 years between their last two appearances...
  18. Lineup 2018

I assume it's because the type of 16/17 year olds who are likely to post on eFests are probably the type who think rock music is proper music and hip-hop isn't. Most newbies we get on here seem to be after the likes of Foos, Green Day and Blink rather than Kanye. I was the same and I feel like most others in this section were when I first started posting on here. In the real world it may be accepted that hip-hop is beating out rock music but maybe not on festival forums. So you've probably been downvoted in annoyance by people like that manchestermusicreview guy who loves Courteeners.
  19. Lineup 2018

They were booked for that Glasto slot before their second album came out. It's the same as how QOTSA subbed Download in 2013 after ...Like Clockwork came out and then headlined R&L the following year (yeah they co-headlined but no one would have batted an eyelid if they'd headlined outright). If they co-headline I think the most likely options are Paramore, Florence or BMTH if they're back on the road by then. I had been thinking Paramore would do BST but I saw recently that they did Europe in the early Summer this year so next year they're probably more likely to do late Summer and if so they'd probably end up at R&L. Maybe 21P or Catfish if they're absolutely desperate but I can't see it. I don't think they will get Foos and Arctic Monkeys but I wouldn't totally rule it out. What if Foos tell them they're not coming back to Europe in 2019 and Arctic Monkeys are signed on for Glasto in 2019 (which I expect them to be)? Then they'd probably book them both next year and have a weaker undercard similar to this year.
  20. Lineup 2018

Nah I think Foos and Arctic Monkeys are still the safest options they have, but Kanye/Kendrick/Drake would definitely go down well and they'd be better off booking them than most of the average-sized rock/indie headliners such as QOTSA, Paramore, Florence, The Killers, etc. (and the likes of Kasabian and Biffy from the last couple of years).
  21. Download 2018

They're doing their own outdoor shows according to someone from Live Nation.
  22. Lineup 2018

Could see him headlining Bestival. Might not impact whether he'd play R&L or not but for some reason I can't see him being there. Had been wondering what hip-hop act Bestival could get as a headliner next year.
  23. Lineup 2018

Yeah but none of them actually listen to the band. I bet most of them couldn't even name you an Iron Maiden song. It's the same as when everyone wore Ramones stuff because it was sold in Topman, etc. No way are Maiden playing R&L. Even my friends who are into metal would turn their noses up at that (and would have done so when we were 16/17, too).
  24. Lineup 2018

Yeah I was gonna say it could be Drake but obv only if they don't have Kendrick, too. And with the Primavera organiser saying he's in Europe late Summer and the three London arena dates making Wireless seem unlikely, it hopefully seems like Kendrick should be a goer. No chance of The Stones at R&L. They're supposed to be doing this thing at Knebworth anyway, aren't they?
  25. Lineup 2018

Paramore tour in January that ain't sold out, though.
