Each day of Glastonbury Festival we'll be bringing you a slice of Festival life from right here on site.

Today's the first day of the Festival proper, this morning gates opened at 7am for long queues and people have been slowly passing quickly through the search points and into the festival and then entering the site to set up their tents in the heat.

The weather forecasts are for more high temperatures and bright sunshine. Today there's not much on. Though with a dry build this year, the Festival is all but completed, and many of the stalls are open, there's live music on some of the smaller stages, and today is the day to enjoy the green grass in light footwear, the grass is likely to turn to dust as footfall on the popular areas increases.

Yesterday's arrivals faced a sultry night and the campervan fields filled quickly. Festivalgoers can enjoy updates on Glastonbury Festival on Worthy FM, and the official Twitter feed.

This evening it's the eFestivals meet outside the Ridge & Furrow Cabaret Field bar, come along and say hi.
