Glastonbury Festival organisers Michael and Emily Eavis have cleared up the confusion around what's been said about their plans for a new event to be called Variety Bazaar, and the future of Glastonbury Festival.

Glastonbury Festival had already announced that 2018 would be a fallow year for the festival, but it will return to its normal home at Worthy Farm in 2019, and will always be held at Worthy Farm.

Variety Bazaar will only take place when there isn't a Glastonbury Festival at Worthy Farm, with plans for the first one already having slipped back to a mooted 2021.

Emily also rebuffs the rumour that has often come our way in the last few years - which we've never believed as true, from our own contact with Emily - that she's not a fan of the festival herself. Yep, it does sound ridiculous, doesn't it?

The interview with The Guardian is an interesting read, so rather than repeat here why not read it for yourself?
