The Sun has reported (here) that a trio of rock headliners will top the bill at next year's Glastonbury Festival alleging it will be Muse, Coldplay, and Foo Fighters.

The newspaper reports that the a source told them, "Muse are a Glastonbury no-brainer for a headline booking. They know what it takes to put on a huge show and there’s no bigger stage than the Pyramid. Matt and the boys have a huge back catalogue that will be brilliant for a Saturday night set. This year’s line-up is as rock and roll as the Eavises could have hoped for. They were keen to book the headliners early and they’ve done exactly that. All three of this year’s acts are the sort of big-name rock bands that traditional Glasto-goers will expect to be paying for."

Muse have been rumoured for months as a potential headline act, and this isn't a new idea. Coldplay are pretty likely to appear on Sunday, so it's likely that it is either Foo Fighters or Adele in the other headlining slot.

However as reported (here) one of Festival bookers, Martin Elbourne, told Loaded that Adele was in the final stage of discussions to get her to headline The Pyramid Stage next summer, and we think that Adele is more likely.

Pinkpop, one of the festivals (the other being Rock Werchter) who Foo Fighters had to cancel their appearance at this year, has tweeted that the Foo Fighters are not set to appear there next year.

Glastonbury Festival will take place on 2,000 acres around a farm in Pilton, Somerset over five full days from Wednesday 23rd until Sunday 27th June 2016. As ever, entry includes a free programme. Once again, the Festival will be raising more than £2 million in funds for Oxfam, Wateraid, Greenpeace and a host of local charities and causes.
