Coldplay have hinted on Radio1's breakfast show to host Nick Grimshaw, about a headline appearance at Glastonbury Festival. "We'd love to do it. That's our spiritual home, as a band," said Martin. "Maybe we should have called ahead and asked them," he joked.

The band revealed what could be their final seventh album, 'A Head Full of Dreams', will be released on 4 December, and the first single, a track called 'Adventure Of A Lifetime' premiered on BBC Radio 1 today, Friday.

Coldplay are strongly rumoured to be headlining Glastonbury for a fourth time next year, closing the Pyramid stage on the final day. We reported that they were likely to headline, (here), last month.

If they do headline they will be the act who has the most headlining appearances at Worthy Farm, making a record fourth appearance after previously topping the bill in 2002, 2005 and 2011, and before that making appearances in 1999, and 2000. Van Morrison, The Cure and Elvis Costello all having made three headline appearances.

Festival organiser Michael Eavis recently had Coldplay's lead singer Chris Martin performing at his 80th birthday celebrations.

It has been suggest Muse, and Adele will join them at the top of the bill.

Tickets for Glastonbury Festival have sold out. There will be a re-sale, which is likely to be in April or May 2016. Registration is currently closed and will reopen on Monday 16th November.

Glastonbury Festival will take place on 2,000 acres around a farm in Pilton, Somerset over five full days from Wednesday 23rd until Sunday 27th June 2016. As ever, entry includes a free programme. Once again, the Festival will be raising more than £2 million in funds for Oxfam, Wateraid, Greenpeace and a host of local charities and causes.

There are no acts confirmed yet for 2016. Expect something like 2,000 performances at over 100 venues including music, cabaret, theatre, circus, a fantastic Kidz area, poetry, green crafts and information, site art, decor, and loads, loads more ... much more than just the music, so make sure you check it all out!
