The first acts have been announced for Twisterella Festival, the one-day event which takes place at multiple venues in the Southfield Road & Linthorpe Road area of Middlesbrough, on Saturday 10th October 2015, from 1.30pm - 11pm.

Independent music promoters, Pay For The Piano and The Kids Are Solid Gold, have announced Fickle Friends, Fatherson, Allusondrugs, Beach Baby, Washington Irving, Model Aeroplanes, Plastic Mermaids, NYTCLUB, Slug, Hyde & Beast, Kingsley Chapman and The Murder, Serinette, Dressed Like Wolves, General Sherman, George Boomsma, Bi:Lingual, Joe Ramsey, Keep Breathing, Josh Newell-Brown, Lissie's Heart Murmur, Plaza, Billy The Kid, Avalanche Party, Mouses, Cold Ocean Lies, and Lives.

Twisterella Festival is the creation of Middlesbrough independent music promoters, The Kids Are Solid Gold and Pay for the Piano. The 1000 capacity festival will utilise well-established music venues such as Teesside University Students’ Union, The Keys, The Westgarth Social Club and TSOne, with pop-up sessions planned for Sticky Fingers and The Twisted Lip.

The event is designed to showcase the brightest emerging national and international music talent and will also give a platform to a select number of local and regional acts who are ready to make the step up to the big stage.

Festival co-director Andy Carr said, "We are passionate about presenting Middlesbrough as a confident town and one that is very much at the cutting edge for showcasing the finest emerging talent. A number of acts from last year’s line-up, such as Prides, Eliza and the Bear and Jake Isaac, have already gone on to bigger and better things. Twisterella really is a chance to see tomorrow’s acts, today."
