Singer Jess Glynne pulled out of her appearance at the Isle of Wight Festival last weekend on doctor's orders because she's to undergo vocal chord surgery next week, and has now confirmed the cancellation of further shows due to her current condition.

The operation on the singer, who features on Clean Bandit's single 'Rather Be' and Route94's 'My Love', means her appearances at Glastonbury Festival, Wireless Festival, T in the Park, and Splendour have been effected, with no news yet on August shows at Brighton Pride, V Festivals, and Fusion Festival.

She tweeted, "I am so so sad to tell you that I'm having to have vocal surgery next week. I'm so sorry and it kills me but I have to cancel some forthcoming shows and festivals. I'm a little scared but I will be back singing better than ever very soon! Love hugs and kisses Jess."

The surgery will be carried out by the same doctor who recently performed surgery on both Adele and Sam Smith. The singer won't be able to talk for three weeks but hopes to be back singing in August.
