Queens of the Stone Age, Royksopp and Robyn, Thulsa Doom, Bombino, Neutral Milk Hotel, Jonathan Wilson, Joey Bada$$, Deafheaven, Omar Souleyman, Spidergawd, Hanne Kolstø, Daniel Kvammen, Nadine Shah, and Emilie Nicolas are the first wave of acts announced for Norway's Oya festival.

Øya festival is the largest outdoor music festival in Oslo, Norway and promotes a diverse line up from across the globe. Now in it's 16th year, Oya Festival has moved from the Medieval Park, to Tøyenparken in Sofienberg, Oslo and happens from Tuesday 5th until Saturday 9th August 2014.

2014 marks the start of a new era for the festival, railroad construction is due to take place at tit's usual home so next year, Øya moves to a new site called Tøyenparken.

The new site is situated between three Oslo landmarks; the international Munch museum, the botanical gardens and Oslo's outdoor amphitheatre park - which includes an outdoor swimming pool, a football field and picturesque walking paths.

Øya will close the main street between all three areas and join the two parks to become one huge area.  Despite the new site being bigger than its predecessor, Øya will still have a 60,000 capacity allowing for more space and a comfortable experience.

Promoter Claes Olsen says, "Øya is about being an urban park festival, more than a dirty field. We got into this because of our love for music, not love for mud and running a camping site.  With the new site, three of the outdoor stages will be amphi theaters which will be amazing."
