As expected Liam Gallagher's band Beady Eye have been forced to cancel their festival appearance at  V Festival following their guitarist Gem Archer suffering a severe head trauma after an accident last week.

A statement on the group’s website, (here), confirmed the news saying, "Beady Eye regret to announce that they are cancelling their performance at V Festival and their remaining scheduled shows and promotional commitments in August due to guitarist Gem Archer suffering severe head trauma after an accident on August 1st.

The band apologise to fans but under the circumstances feel they can not perform without Gem and want to focus on supporting him throughout his recovery.

Gem was released from hospital yesterday evening and is recovering at home though remains under observation."

The band had to announce they were pulling out of a string of festival appearances around the world a few days ago after Gem's injury a week ago today.

V Festival have announced what line-up amendments they are making this evening, with Steve Angello now headlining 4Music, and Ocean Colour Scene now headlining the Arena, and  Scouting For Girls moving to take their place on main stage.

The twin V Festivals will take place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, Essex and Weston Park, Staffordshire over the weekend of Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th August 2013.

Weekend tickets with camping were priced at £185 and weekend tickets with no camping were priced at £160 - both options have sold out for Stafford. Day tickets are priced at £89 with only KOL days available, and a car park pass pass is priced at £20, and a campervan pass is priced at £99, with luxury VIP camping, and combined coach packages still available.
