'Wish You Were Here' will be the theme of this year's acoustic sessions on the Black Howl acoustic stage, at Galtres festival which takes place over the August Bank Holiday weekend, which will again be curated by David Ward Maclean. This year's theme takes its inspiration from the classic Pink Floyd track and the headliner is Nick Harper whose father Roy Harper appeared on the album singing 'Have a Cigar', and Nick Harper grew up with the likes of David Gilmore and Roger Waters around the house.

"It works for us on many levels," explained festival director James Houston. "'Wish You Were Here' is a brilliant track and album which will inspire great performances from the artists we invite to play this session. The album of the same name is in part an attack on the nasty corporate side of the music industry - how it can chew up and spit out great talent, like Floyd's founder Syd Barrett. But on a lighter note the name 'Wish You Were Here' expresses how Galtres wants to reach out to everyone out there and invite them to share our beautiful event. And the holiday postcard motif works really well with the 'Pirates and Seasides' theme running through our family festival events."

"We're also keen to keep the balance of musical genres as broad as possible," added James. "We've listened to feedback and like the nod this choice gives to progressive rock music, which has evolved from Floyd to some fine bands playing around York today like Mostly Autumn, Stolen Earth, and the Heather Findlay Band."

Also added to the line-up are Bridie Jackson and The Arbour, Paul Liddell, Sarah Dean, and York based rockers We Could Be Astronauts.

Plus the recently announced Lloyd Cole, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, and Chris Helme they join Friday headliners Reef, Saturday headliners Maximo Park, plus Holy Moly & the Crackers, Maia, Boss Caine, Counting Coins, David Ward Maclean, Horse Guards Parade, Littlemores, Ryan Spendlove, The Blueprints, The Talks, and Blackbeard's Tea Party. More than 100 bands will play Galtres Festival on seven stages.

The Galtres festival started out as a beer and cider festival that included local based musicians and has gone through a change over the last couple of years and is now considered more of a music festival that has some great locally produced beers/ciders on sale.

The family friendly festival will be taking place over three days this year on August bank holiday weekend, from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th August 2013 at Duncombe Park, Helmsley, near York, in North Yorkshire.

An adult weekend ticket is priced at £90, child (aged 5 -15 years) tickets are priced at £20, a family ticket (2 adults and up to three children) is priced at £270. Day tickets are priced at £35 for Friday and £40 for Saturday or Sunday. A camping (per tent) ticket is priced from £10 to £40 depending upon size of tent.
