For a third year the The Biotik stage returns to the Eden Sessions to presenting an eclectic programme of music, talks and events throughout the concerts.

The Travelling Band
The stage, showcasing artists working with Manchester Aid for Kosovo, Strummerville, Nowhereisland and Cape Farewell, will be in the Mediterranean Biome during the Tim Minchin Session on 23rd June, Plan B on 6th July, and Noah and the Whale and The Vaccines on 11th July.

Biotik is the result of a long-term collaboration between the Eden Project and Cape Farewell, a project that brings artists, scientists and communicators together to engage people in the subject of climate change.

On Saturday 23rd June before comedian Tim Minchin plays the main stage, Biotik will be curated by Strummerville. Set up by the friends and family of Joe Strummer in the year after his death, the charity offers support, resources and performance opportunities to artists who would not normally have access to them.

The stage will be headlined by She Makes War, otherwise known as Laura Kidd. She will be joined by Tom James, Gaz Brookfield, and Beans on Toast.

On Friday 6th July, the stage will be curated by Nowhereisland. The artwork, a floating Arctic island by Alex Hartley, has caught the world's imagination and inspired more than 6,400 people to sign up to become citizens of the world's newest nation.

Nowhereisland will host a programme of talks from the island's Resident Thinkers and the spontaneous pop-up talk show the Talkaoke Table will be welcomed back for another year. Cape Farewell will be presenting a performance created through their Sea Voyage project.

On the Noah and the Whale and The Vaccines headlined Wednesday 11th July, Biotik will be curated by Manchester Aid for Kosovo and headlined by The Travelling Band, with support from Karima Francis, Silverclub, Gideon Conn, and Stefan Melbourne.

Throughout the Sessions Eden's Marketplace of Ideas will also be demonstrating the work of many of the organisations Eden is currently working with.

Amie Rey, Eden's Arts Project Manager, said, "The Biotik stage is being curated by some really exciting organisations, which are all bringing their own flavour and passion to the day through the diverse line-up of artists."

This year's Sessions headliners are comic Tim Minchin (Saturday June 23), Example (Saturday June 30), a day of folk, headlined by Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls (Sunday July 1), Chase & Status and Labrinth (July 4) Plan B (Friday July 6), Blink-182 (Sunday July 8 - SOLD OUT) and Noah and the Whale and The Vaccines (July 11), with more acts will be announced soon.

Eden Sessions have become more like a one-day festival, with three stages and acts playing from early afternoon on each day.

Tickets are priced at £35. Every Sessions ticket includes entry to Eden on the day of the show or the day after.

The Eden Sessions are now in their eleventh year. The Sessions are famed not only for bringing top acts to Cornwall but also for their festival feel, with extra bands and entertainers playing around the site in the run-up to the main event.
