Beautiful Days announces Dirty Davey's Bandstand line-up

The line-up has been announced for the new Dirty Davey's Bandstand at this month's Beautiful Days which includes a second festival set announced for British Sea Power, and Goldblade's John Robb in conversation with acts appearing over the weekend, plus comedy, poetry, theatre and a fancy dress competition.

On Friday Dirty Davey's Bandstand plays host to British Sea Power, Waiting for Bono, Jackie Juno, Hypnotique, Whitestar, Stars in the Making?, and Red Dirt.

On Saturday it's the turn of Murray Lachlan-Young, Don Letts, The Agitator, Thomas Truax, John Callaghan, Olly B, Whitestar, Jail House Doors, and an open mic session as well as John Robb in conversation with the Leveller's own Mark Chadwick, Penny Rimbauld, Don Letts, and Murray Lachlan-Young.

Sunday see performances from DJ Herman Funkster, John Cooper Clarke, Laura Dockrill, Kagemusha Taiko, Troubadour, and Bike Shed Theatre Company. The stage will also see the Fancy Dress competition judged and John Robb in conversation with Kerry McCarthy, Poly Styrene and more.

The new area of the festival will be replacing the Pussy Parlureand will feature a bandstand and real ale bar with outdoor seating area and food stalls. The area will play host to a range of diverse acts, speakers and groups during the weekend. There is also a chance for festival goers to take some of the slots on the Dirty Davey's Bandstand bill. Those wanting to perform on the bandstand then email info@beautifuldays.org with 'bandstand' in the subject line and let them know what you do - they're not just looking for musicians - comedy, magic, dance, theatre - all acts will be considered!

The festival which takes place at Escot Park, near Fairmile, Devon from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd August 2010 has also announced 'Scary Dave presents' on the during the day in the Little Big Top with hours of stand-up comedy on Saturday and Sunday from Paddy Lennox, Pierre Hollins, Liam Mullone, Hils Barker, Woody Lee, Brian Damage and Krysstal, Doozer, Attila the Stockbroker, Sully O'Sullivan, Del Strain, Debra Jane Appleby, Dan Cardwell, Ian Cognito, Gareth Berliner, Rich Allen, Paul Pirie, and Mitch Benn.

They join headliners James, The Wailers and Levellers plus Newton Faulkner, Fairport Acoustic Convention, Billy Bragg, Bellowhead, New Model Army, Easy Star All-Stars, Show of Hands, African Head Charge, The Slackers, The Alarm, Ned's Atomic Dustbin, The Aggrolites, Krafty Kuts, Citizen Fish, Dervish, Wilko Johnson, John Cooper Clarke, Shooglenifty, John Otway Big Band, The Destroyers, 3 Daft Monkeys, Uiscedwr, Tankus The Henge and Ian King. This year's theme has been announced with the festival embracing the Chinese Year of the Tiger, with the theme for the Sunday being Stripes.

Tickets for the festival have sold out. Festival goers are asked to make sure they have purchased a car parking ticket if they are driving to the festival. The car parking tickets are routing stickers which help stewards guide vehicles on to the site and parked. They will cost MORE on the gate and entry to the festival may be delayed by not having one in advance. Car routing/parking passes are available from hereuntil Friday 13th August.

Festival goers are also reminded that no fireworks or fire lanterns, glass, animals, open fires, petrol generators or unauthorised sound systems are permitted on site. If festival goers bring any of these items they are putting the festivals licence at risk.
