Roxy Music, Leftfield, and Massive Attack lead the acts announced for Irish music festival Electric Picnic.

Joining them will be LCD Soundsystem, The Frames, Public Image Ltd, The National, Imelda May, Mumford & Sons, Seasick Steve, Modest Mouse, Hot Chip, Gil Scott-Heron, Fever Ray, Jonsi, Fat Freddy's Drop, Bad Lieutenant, Crystal Castles, Afro Celt Sound System, Booka Shade, and Bloody Beetroots Death Crew77.

Also confirmed to play at the Irish event are Steve Earle, The Waterboys, Beach House, The Big Pink, 808 State, The Low Anthem, The Redneck Manifesto, The Horrors, Monotonix, Liquid Liquid, Here We Go Magic, Field Music, Steve Mason, Cymande, The Alarm, Messiah J & The Expert, The Dublin Gospel Choir, Caribou, Adrian Crowley, Villagers, New Pornographers, Edan + MC Dagna, Breakestra, Chali 2Na, Mr Scruff, and Memory Tapes.

There will also be many other attractions on offer, including a spoken word arena with a news quiz hosted by Jon Snow, a poetry reading by Florence Welch on the Literary Stage, and debates, talks, readings, theatre, science experiments, Irish language and slam poetry. This year's programme will see international speakers, writers and thinkers in conversation about everything from sport to architecture, music to economics, fashion to science. The Leviathan and Word stages return, as well as the Arts Council Literary Stage, Science Gallery, Puball Gaeilge and Theatre Stage. Expect favourites and regulars as well as some very exciting new additions.

Body & Soul will be changing this year Shrine will build a new permanent installation from recycled materials, tin cans, bottle caps, and broken chandeliers to act as the stage. The Body&Soul Village will still be a haven inside the festival with music stages, visual installations, massage tents, cosy cocoons, disco corners, great food, and a programme that focuses as much on showcasing up-and-coming talent as well as a new line up of established home-grown acts. This year's Zen Gardens and Earth Spirit will feature among realms: 60 hand picked therapist, the hugely popular Panchammas Acoustic Tipi and Sauna, creative workshops, yoga theatre, permaculture, organic gardening, environmental art, herb lore & sound, shamanic journeys and pretty pockets of peace and harmony.

The Stradbelly Laughs also makes a return with a line-up of side splitting comedians who will be announced later in the year. Lucent Dossier bring their outrageous, magical vaudevillian circus back to Electric Picnic. Also returning again are Arcadia with their unique space-aged 360 degree venue complete with robots and junk metal art installations, circus acts, trapeze performers and fire spinners.

Green issues about the environment and eco-awareness are once again highlighted in the Global green an on-site sustainability sanctuary and a platform for raising awareness for social and humanitarian issues. Contributors include Cultivate, Amnesty International, Oxfam, the Slow Food Eat-In and so many more.

This year for little ones there will be Kiddie Yoga, the Utensils Puppet Show, Felt-making workshops, The Funky Feet dance troupe, Enchanted Fairy Workshops, Jewellery making, Arts & Crafts and of course plenty of surprises with the free service for parents & children - the Soul Kids and Family Camping Area.

Tickets will be priced at priced at 220 euros for an adult weekend ticket. Tickets will go on sale Friday 26th March. There will be no single day tickets, Family Camping Tickets and Campervan Tickets priced at 60 euros will also be available, tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 26th March, and eFestivals will have links to buy them then.
