Next month's Bestival has announced more acts including Erol Alkan, Layo & Bushwacka!, Marina And The Diamonds, and The Low Anthem.

The latest acts to be confirmed for the sold out Bestival are Erol Alkan, Layo & Bushwacka!, Marina And The Diamonds, The Low Anthem, Cosmo, Crimes Against Pop, Damian Lazarus, Eddie Pillar, Eddy Temple Morris, King Roc, Oris Jay aka Darqwan, The Boy Least Likely To, Ragga Twins, Trojan Sound System, The Shellac Collective, Trouble DJs, and Wild Geese DJs.

The first acts have also been confirmed for the Comedy Stage now located in the new Magic Meadow field. From Friday to Sunday between 3pm and 6pm the tent offers up-and-coming young talents on the comedy circuit fresh from the Edinburgh Festival alongside local comedians from the Isle of Wight. Then, from 6.30pm to late, comics including Andrew Maxwell, Ian Stone, Jason John Whitehead, Craig Campbell, and Matt Kirshen.

Newly announced is the Club DaDa line-up which sees La Fanfare en Petard, Empress Stah, Cut A Shine, Gaz's Rockin Blues, The Correspondents, DJ Chris Tofu, Jarmean?, Tough Love, Amundsen & Slade, Tankus The Henge, Jackie Le & Will Davis, Red Sarah, MC Elemental, Archibald Floss, Lydia Darling, Sydeian Creations, Miners Club, The Chihuahuas, Very Be Careful, Los Chinches, Moviemientos, and Russ Jones take to the stage.

Also confirmed are the acts for the Polka Tent which include Penny Metal, Soviet Reunion DJs, Radio Gagarin, Alexandro Toledo and The Magic Tombolinos, Cut A Shine, Magpies Nest, Pronghorn, Miners Club, The Chihuahuas, Max Pashm, DJ Chris Tofu, Victor Menace!!!, Hot Club of Belville, and Folkeoke offering festival goers a chance to sing-along to punk/pop favourites in a nasal English Style.

The festival organisers have also announced a new attraction for 2009, an Artist Signing Tent at Bestival. Situated next to Bestival FM, in the Outer Space field, Firetrap will be opening the doors to the 'Firetrap Lock In' each day. Bestival FM and the Bestival Bugle will announce each day the times of these special appearances. There will be some fun entertainment in the evenings, plus a pub quiz with prizes each day and music hosted by some friends of Firetrap.

This year's line-up sees Kraftwerk as the Saturday night headliners, Friday night it's the turn of Massive Attack. MGMT, Soulwax, Fleet Foxes, Seasick Steve, Klaxons, Bat For Lashes, Michael Nyman, The Beat, Squarepusher, The Future Sound Of London, Little Boots, Friendly Fires, Florence & The Machine, Bjorn Again, Fujiya and Miyagi, Metronomy, Dub Pistols, 2manydjs, James Yuill, Diplo, Alix Perez, Annie Mac, Beardyman, Buraka Som Sistema, Major Lazer, Rusko, DJ Derek, DJ Yoda, Fabio & Grooverider, are also confirmed. The festival has an 'Outer Space' theme this year with a brand new Afterburner stage and a plethora of pyrotechnical delights, the Out of Space fancy dress theme, plus Come Dancing in the Spiegeltent, an intergalactic cockney time travel extravaganza at the Knees Up, some amazing moments in the depths of The Hidden Disco and much more.
